As a corporate employee, I definitely second that thought. Awesome post.
Leadership and authenticity are the true currency in startup recruiting.
Genz cares more about the experience they will get, so they are curious about the team they work with. Having your executives and employees share their expertise online helps build that trust. Also, I have seen attrition rates going down for companies that have executives with strong personal brands. 1wThe best folks I've met in startups? ALL of them want to be more than their jobs. They also want to master other things. How other departments work, how their jobs affects the bottom line, how the business functions as a whole, and so on. And so, unsurprisingly, all of them are drawn to people who lead with these values (And more importantly, broadcast them publicly). I didn't realize it then, but it seems these leaders are doing exactly what you just suggested here: leading with their beliefs. It's so shockingly effective now that I think about it.
