Global PR Consultant I Award Winning Podcaster I ex DisneyStar I ex Hill & Knowlton I

“Are podcasts the new strategy for PR?” Reflecting on this with the distinguished panel Srishti Thakur ( she/her) Thakur , Yashika Sagar, Kanak Kohli was indeed interesting. As this is the conversation, I remember starting nearly 2 years back, when I forayed into Podcasting. Since then , the industry has seen a consistent and rising trend 💹 From marketing, PR to comms fraternity; it's not easy for anyone to ignore the role and influence of Podcast in the communication mix . No wonder when we all got up on stage to discuss this, it wasn't easy to get us down :) Each one of us brought out a different view and delved into facets of podcasts.  Like, → Srishti Thakur ( she/her) emphasized upon the importance of understanding the audience's listening habits. She said, “It is important to understand whether your audience is listening to podcasts. For the education sector specifically, you wouldn’t see any such podcasts. So it is a great medium for us, but we have to learn to do it right.” → While in my view point :  “The only key to ace podcasts is consistency. So if you are inconsistent with your content, be it video, audio, or even PR, sustained efforts is the key to build your podcast much like any other branding.” Kanak Kohli summed it up perfectly by saying : “It’s a hand-and-glove scenario with PR and podcasts and they will certainly act as two peas in the same pod.” "As the landscape continues to evolve, integrating podcasts into PR strategies will offer a unique and effective way to engage and connect with audiences at a deeper level and the potential is emmense even with regional content," added Yashika Sagar As someone on both sides of the spectrum that is - PR and podcast I totally agree that the potential of podcasts is huge for brands and marcomm , because of the medium’s intimate and targeted approach , and loyal audience.
