Informative.! 🤗 As mentioned by you, focus indicator is must. I see many sites where keyboard navigation works perfectly without the focus indicator. And often get questioned by business/ stakeholders that “why do you need focus indicators for a blind user.?” May be so many times, I have said in this platform that, accessibility is not for blind persons. Its for everyone.! And focus indicators is for people who can partially see. Thanks for pointing about keyboard focus Aarti Thombare, CPACC . Now coming to the orginal post, thanks for sharing about TAB, Shift+TAB, and Enter/space bar. Most users completely relay on these keys to access the components in a site. In addition to that, heading (H key navigation), Table (T) also often used by users. While working with my colleague in my previous projects, I got opportunities to work with screen reading users , who do uses all most all keys from keyboard for their day to day activities. So all keyboard shortcuts are important. Keyboard always play a role in our day to day life. When I enter office with a cup of cappuccino, at that time, I prefer TAB and enter keys on my laptop instead of mouse. At that point of time, I do play the role of an accessibility user. A visible focus indicator is a crucial aspect of designing for keyboard Accessibility. The focus indicator is a visual clue, indicating which element on webpage is currently selected or in focus. In addition to this, choose a focus indicator that contrasts well with background and surrounding elements.
