THINK BEFORE HIRING.🤔 Don’t hire, when you can promote. Here are 5 signs your team is ready for leadership: • They solve problems without asking for help. • They support others in achieving their goals. • They take initiative, without waiting for direction. • They own their mistakes quickly and fix them. • They improve processes without being told to. Promoting from within strengthens your team. It builds loyalty, increases productivity, and saves you time. Hiring externally isn’t always the answer. Your next leader could already be on your team. Again Think before hiring 👍

When it comes to building a truly exceptional team, skills alone aren’t enough. Skills can be taught, refined, and developed—but character is what sets a great hire apart. For your company to truly succeed, focus on what matters: DON'T do this: - Relying solely on CVs for hiring. - Overlooking the unique qualities of your team members. - Stifling creativity with micromanagement. DO this instead: - Appreciate and leverage diverse perspectives and ideas. - Seek out passionate, dedicated individuals with real-world experience. - Foster an environment where creativity and innovation can flourish. What are your thoughts? #Leadership #CompanyCulture #Innovation #TalentManagement #TeamBuilding #EmployeeEngagement #CreativeLeadership #BusinessSuccess #HiringBestPractices

Leadership is not about having all the answers; it's about fostering a culture of collaboration and learning. I remember when I first started hiring, I thought I needed to find candidates who fit a perfect mold. But over time, I learned that the best hires were those who brought unique perspectives and challenged the status quo. In today's hiring landscape, it's not just about filling positions—it's about finding the right fit for both the team and the individual. 🧡

3 key lessons I've learned after years of hiring team members and building successful teams. ✔️ Be clear about WHO you need: Have a clearly defined role and know the strengths and skills you need in your team. If you can't define these, how can you truly know who you're looking for, and when you hire, how can they be successful? ✔️ Communicate Well, Often, and with Integrity: Be clear on the process, communicate often, and keep a tight timeline. Frequently, we drag out the hiring process and only provide updates when we have one. Remember what it's like to be the applicant. If you say you'll reach out by a date, do it, even if there is no new news. ✔️ Give Clarity: The most caring thing you can do is not delay removing the wrong fit from your process, or if they are the right fit, hire them as quickly as possible. Not letting people linger in the process for an extended time benefits you and honors the candidate. When you do these things well, candidates will respect you, regardless of the outcome. When you have clarity on WHO you need, you can hire well, honor people in the process, and build a thriving team. Clarity is kindness. #leadershipinsights #leaders #leadershipdevelopment #hiring #hiringtips

It's Time to Rethink Hiring I've hired a few people across my 30+ year in a leadership position. And I've also fired a few of my very own hires. The right team can make all the difference. Here are two key points to guide your hiring process: 1️⃣ Hire Leaders, Not Followers: Focus on bringing in high-agency individuals who think upstream and prevent fires rather than merely putting them out. Look for proactive, forward-thinking professionals who can anticipate challenges and drive innovation. These are the team members who will elevate your organization and keep you ahead of the curve. We tend not to do this because we're afraid they won't stay with us. If that turns out to be true, it's better to have them for a couple of years and let them hire and train their replacement than to spend two years with an under-performer! 2️⃣ Hire Slowly and Thoughtfully: The instinct to hire people like ourselves is strong, but it can be a trap. Replicating our strengths is redundant, and mirroring our weaknesses is risky. Take time to find diverse talent that complements your skills and brings fresh perspectives. A well-rounded team with varied strengths will be more resilient and creative in the face of challenges. We tend to resist this because we recognize that it will cause some conflict. With a diverse team, we no longer simply have "yes" people around us. This is such a good thing but one that we often recoil from. Remember, the goal isn't just to fill positions—it's to build a dynamic, effective, and innovative team. Take the time to hire well and watch your organization thrive! #Leadership #Hiring #TalentAcquisition #ProactiveThinking #DiversityAndInclusion
