The Senior Nonprofit Peer Book Club met to discuss Seth Godin's latest work, The Song of Significance: A New Manifesto for Teams. One quote that resonated with the group was "What got us here, won't get us there". If we want to continually evolve and expand our impact on the world, we can't simply rely on last year's strategies or ways of thinking. We need to remain adaptable to our ever-changing landscapes, continually expand the bounds of what is possible within our organizations, and learn from others (like this group) who are equally committed to leading the way of the future for their respective industries. Any workshop Anjali teaches promises to be a really good learning experience.

I'm reviewing some findings from a national research project a couple of colleagues are completing. I'm struck by the frequency of conflict, disengaged or entrenched leaders, and the divides in so many nonprofits. It's remarkable, and not in a good way. Though it takes an intervention (often by an outside party), the problems are easily identified via data-driven processes, and the (not as easy) path forward becomes clear for decision-makers.
