Hybrid working is in high demand benefit currently, but I'm also finding candidates are looking at the bigger picture now in terms of development. A company that have a strong people culture, who look to develop their workforce and create long lasting career opportunities will attract a lot of attention. Supporting qualifications and offering consistent training opportunities as well as providing clear career pathways is also high on the list

Flexibility is what people value the most in my experience. Sometimes this isn't in the policy but just the "I need a doctors appointment.." sure thing, take the time... "I want to go to my child's parents evening" - cool, enjoy let me know how you get on. In short, being valued and your boss knowing you are doing right by the business, and they are doing right by you :)

There's a definitive blur between "benefits" being used as part of the lure of a role, or even being used to offset some of the package. In many cases these benefits also cross over into the world of legal entitlements, so there could be a smidgen of mis-selling afoot! I discussed a role recently and "great working environment" was listed as a benefit. It's not. It's not quantifiable as it means different things to different people. I see many organisations launching staff engagement initiatives or promoting their inclusive and supportive brand ethos. This means nothing is the real story included toxicity and management through fear! And for the company that offered me cycle to work for a remote based role, in a remote based organisation. No. Just no.
