I vividly remember the first time I introduced ABM to a team. The year was 2016, in our Hammersmith offices at Firefly Learning, during an All Hands. As a company, we’d come a long way in recent years, but the volume based lead gen machine we had put in place was no longer holding up. After being introduced to ABM I was sold - convinced we should shift our GTM right away. In the All Hands, I used the reliable “fishing with net vs fishing with spears” analogy. The rest is history… …ish. Fast forward 8 or so years, and I have keenly brought different iterations of ABM into various markets and verticals. I’ve been fortunate to surround myself with the best Sales and Marketing teams out there in order to make some of it a success. And, picked up more than a few battle scars along the way. Whichever version: the targeted, aligned core of ABM, persists as a powerful GTM bedrock. But, convincing your SLTs and Boards how the right ABM links to business objectives, and the ways in which to measure and report on it, often remains frustratingly disjointed. While getting Marketing and Sales on the same page can be a messy process to find that unified approach. So, I couldn't be more excited to join a brilliant panel made up of Matt Gales Sales Manager at G2, Anya Slowenko Marketing Manager at Aircall and Ollie Sharpe, CCO at Lative to dive into all things Account Based Strategies in a few week's time.
