(Inspired by a recent Thanksgiving hotel stay with my husband 😜) What if... - Hotel bathrooms had an exhaust fan? - Hotel showers were fully enclosed? - Hotels had a "public" bathroom on each floor (for when your spouse is taking too long in yours)? - Hotel room black-out curtains had little magnets in them to snap all the way closed? 🤷 #attendeeengagement #randomthoughtsbyLiz 📷 : Marriott Hotels --------- 🎉 Get more ideas like this in our weekly newsletter, The Engaged Attendee. Always travel with these four things and there is no travel problem you can't solve: Binder clips, large (3) Binder clips, small (3) Duct tape Zip ties in assorted lengths (6) [I've fixed cars, repaired suitcaes, smuggled wine, slept well and changed lighting on five continents using a combo of the above] Bathroom - the facilities next to whatever "gym" exists at the hotel are rarely used. When traveling with my spouse, that becomes my de facto bathroom.
I always carry a binder clip to keep the curtains closed!! And i hate that the smoke alarm always has to blink right over the bed!! One day I’d love to be a hotel sleeping room designer! (Maybe you can find the right person to intro me too! 🙂)
I don't remember where we were but my wife and I stayed at a fancy hotel once in Amsterdam I think and the bathroom had a window in it. It was pretty awkward when I needed to do a number 2. Made my wife face the wall for a while. 😅 would not recommend
That shower has a door. I like the handle on the opposite wall so you don’t get wet turning on the shower. I really like the shaving sink in the shower area…unique for me to see. Zephyr fan is a definite need. Like the idea of the magnets, but most do overlap.
- hooks all over the walls to hang towels, coats, purses, clothes, etc so you don't have to lay them on furniture??
Yes! Love these ideas! Can I add some? - either no digital lights (alarm clock, TV etc) or complimentary eye masks to black them and the light coming from the hallway under the door. - water stations on each floor to refill your water bottle and make it easier to avoid single use plastic. The Pearle Hotel & Spa in Burlington does this really well!
Great ideas Liz. One of my biggest pet peeves for hotel showers is when there are no hooks or racks within reaching distance of the shower door. I hate when you have to place your towel across the room or on a closed toilet and not be able to dry off inside the shower.
I have one… What if hotels stopped having exclusive/preferred agreements with AV vendors that force their customers to overpay for AV equipment and services. Btw, I love the way idea of a secondary bathroom on all floors.
Ok, a public bathroom on each floor is actually genius. 🙌
Sounds like you had a very “fun” hotel stay with the husband!
