Do you want Horizontal Growth or Vertical Growth? As a Cloud Engineer, you have two primary growth paths: Horizontal Growth and Vertical Growth. Horizontal Growth occurs within the Delivery Team: Cloud Engineer → Team Lead → Project Manager → Account Manager While this is just one example, there are various roles within the delivery team you can explore. Vertical Growth extends beyond the Delivery Team: Cloud Engineer → Presales → Practice Head → Director → VP → C-Suite Executive Again, this is just one pathway among many options available beyond the delivery team. How to use this information in an interview? When asked, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" consider the following self-assessment: Are you interested in purely technical roles? Do you prefer a blend of technical and functional roles? Are you leaning towards techno-managerial roles? Or are you considering non-technical roles? Well it's because we are customer obsessed and invested in our customers' long-term success.
