What an incredible three-day experience at the Open Digital Health Summit (ODHS). Each day was packed with engaging, interactive sessions, valuable learning opportunities, and the chance to connect with people from around the world. I was thrilled to meet so many amazing individuals over these three days, including representatives from Global Fund, USAID, ONA, WHO, various regional ministries, and the World Bank, to name a few. Here are my key takeaways: Digital health plays a vital role in the ICT market, providing a strong foundation for growth. Proper Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) planning is essential for sustainable success; rushing into implementation without preparation leads to short-lived results. FHIR standards are crucial for achieving interoperability, both within countries and across borders. Knowledge sharing is critical—we must move beyond experimentation and focus on sustainable solutions. Donors have a pivotal role in digital health transformation and should remain closely involved to ensure their investments deliver impactful outcomes. It was truly inspiring to be part of such a dynamic and collaborative event! #ODHS2024 #FullSTAConFHIR

Principle of organized individual endeavor – set a very definite procedure through which an individual may promote himself into whatever station he desires, or acquire whatever, material things he wishes. Following are five major steps: definiteness of purpose or objective; creation of a plan for the attainment of the objective; Continuous action in carrying out a plan, alliance with those who will cooperate in carrying out the plan and moving at all times, on one’s initiative. Digital Health – Planning National System employs such principle – in which digital health experts from around the world meet to learn, share experiences, and discuss various health challenges facing the health sector in different countries. Such an alliance combined with the great leadership from #techChange #USAID is a guaranteed success. I am proud to have gone through the hours to learn and exchange with fellow experts from around the world. #ITU #WHO #lastmilehealth #digitalsquare World Health Organization USAID

Digital health has a transformative impact on achieving #UniversalHealthCoverage. By leveraging digital technologies, health systems can significantly enhance accessibility, affordability, and quality of care, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. USAID’s recently released Digital Health Position Paper (2024-2029) is a vital tool for equipping global stakeholders with the strategies, tools, and solutions needed to keep pace with rapid technological advancements. Chemonics International's Digital Development Practice Lead Manisha Aryal emphasizes, “Digital is a key enabler in the journey towards #UHC. USAID’s Digital Health Position Paper offers a solid framework for strengthening health system resilience and accelerating progress towards UHC by leveraging the digital ecosystem and using emerging technologies responsibly." #12DaysOfUHC UHC2030 - Taking action for universal health coverage https://lnkd.in/d9cupbSR

To fully leverage the potential of health data for public benefit and improved health outcomes, while also managing risks and protecting individual rights, it's essential to strengthen #healthdatagovernance through more effective legislation and regulation. Government leadership on this agenda is now critical. We urge World Health Organization Member States to demonstrate support during #WHA77 by: 🟣 Participating at Transform Health’s side-event on #HealthDataGovernance 🟣 Supporting a #HealthDataGovernance framework that sets out a #ModelHDGLaw 🟣 Endorsing the health data governance principles Learn more about the #ModelHDGLaw: https://lnkd.in/grK4DE-k #HealthForAll #DigitalHealth #UHC RECAINSA ENDA Santé AeHIN The Pan African Health Informatics Association - HELINA Young Experts: Tech for Health UNITE Parliamentarians Network for Global Health World Health Organization G20 Brasil 2024 Africa CDC OECD - OCDE UHC2030 - Taking action for universal health coverage Health Data Collaborative PATH Digital Square at PATH Fondation Botnar PMNCH

This year, the World Health Organization launched the Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH), a network designed to align & amplify resources toward country-led digital transformation of health. GIDH will help countries move from product-focused digital health interventions to more robust national #DigitalHealth infrastructure in support of the WHO Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020-2025. health.enabled has been embedded with the GIDH founders to develop a global good that is foundational to the initiative’s success: the #GlobalDigitalHealthMonitor. The Monitor is a powerful tool for countries to understand their progress towards comprehensive integrated digital health ecosystems, identify their national funding & technical assistance needs, and improve alignment among policy makers, donors, and implementers. The Monitor functions as the data source to track and inform the four pillars of the GIDH: needs, resources, tools, and knowledge. 📢 April 24th is a historic day for digital health! The European Parliament just took a monumental step approving the inter-institutional agreement on establishing a European Health Data Space👏 The European Health Data Space (EHDS) will help to improve access to personal health data of patients across Europe. The regulation aims to help the interoperability of healthcare systems and improve outcomes for patients. At XpanDH Project we're working to improve cross-border digital health solutions in the #EU by developing technical resources and promoting the use of standardized technical specifications for specific use cases to the EHDS. Coordinator Henrique Martins hailed the news "April 24th is a historic day for digital health! Representatives from 27 different nations, cultures, and languages agree on many aspects, paving the way for the largest-ever digital health infrastructure and ecosystem". 🇪🇺 You can check out the official news from the European Parliament here: https://lnkd.in/dbFGMkPN #HealthDataSpace #DigitalHealth #EUHealthcare #EHDS #interopability
