💬 What’s at stake?
This conversation will delve spotlight concrete actions that can improve the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) for those living with HIV across Europe. From policy decisions to funding initiatives, MEPs will outline how we can intensify efforts to meet this urgent, yet achievable, goal.
Our distinguished panel includes:
👏 Dr Vytenis Andriukaitis (S&D, Lithuania), our MEP champion and co-host, former EU Health Commissioner, will address how the Commission can elevate HIV on its health agenda to meet the UN SDG 3.3.
👏 Tomislav Sokol (EPP, Croatia), also co-hosting this discussion, will share his expertise on EU cross-border health initiatives and how digital health and data use can enhance care for people living with HIV.
👏 Tilly Metz (Greens/EFA, Luxembourg), a strong advocate for human rights, will address the issues of HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
👏 Andras Kulja MD (EPP, Hungary), a doctor and passionate health advocate, will uncover the complex comorbidities faced by people living with HIV and the need for an integrated, person-centred approach to HIV care.
👏 Vlad Voiculescu (Renew, Romania) will bring his experience as Romania’s former Minister for Health to explore how the EU can focus on measuring and improving the quality of life for people living with HIV.

HIV affects 765,000 people in the EU/EEA and 39.9 million globally. The urgency of prioritizing action cannot be overstated—ensuring no one is left behind in the fight against HIV.
