**Hi!** The medical device industry is complex, restrictive, and intense. As a project manager, the complexity of projects has evolved; you are no longer dealing with team members just a cubicle away. In today's environment, it has become a global process where time, quality, and cost are more critical than ever. The article I read, however, points out that when managing projects, it's important to focus on these aspects in order to be successful. https://lnkd.in/ggiyh6TP

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿: 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 👍! I have been managing Qualification/Validation activities for a CMO manufacturing single doses of pharmaceutical products in an aseptic environment for several months. It is a super technical and exciting environment! My mission is to temporarily replace the manager who has been absent for several months, ensure the proper functioning of the team, and enable his return under the best conditions. 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: - In projects, we manage from start to finish, with no temporary replacement (or more rarely). - No operational management of a service (participation in CODIR, One-on-One, objective or career interviews, no management of increases, etc.). - Field of action with variable geometry dictated by the events of the day. 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: - Need to know and communicate well with stakeholders. - Plan activities and resources. - Manage and support your team. 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱: - Spending time at the start of the mission to get to know the stakeholders saves a lot later (to be continued in another post) - Monitoring and resource management tools are essential to stay on course. - Adopt clear, direct, unambiguous communication: crucial to success. - For an interim manager: take charge of all managerial activities immediately to ensure everything is clear. And you, what type of mission do you prefer? Project management or interim management? __________ 𝐼 𝑎𝑚 𝐸𝑟𝑖𝑐 𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑙𝑖, 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝐼𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑜 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑖𝑙𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑡. In my twenty-five plus years of experience out of which 13 years as project/program manager. I have learned that to be an efficient project manager, you need to be good in these three areas: - 1. Project management domain knowledge along with the tools and software to plan, manage and execute projects. 2. Technology knowledge: say if you are electrical engineering project manager so your electrical engineering design knowledge will surely help you be more efficient project Manager. 3. Third and the most important aspect is human management (soft skill); to effectively manage your team. As you get experience you keep becoming increasingly efficient in project management.

✨ Ever wonder what a day in the life of a Project Manager looks like? ✨ Let me give you an inside look into mine 😉 So, to deliver projects successfully, my usual day consists of a carefully structured routine. This structure enables me to manage multiple projects, track project health and deliver on time and budget. ➡ Among the key strategies that have made me more effective are: ⤵ Blocking time for focused work - I dedicate 1-2 hour blocks to make progress on priority projects without interruptions. This ensures important work gets done. ⤵ Building in buffer time - I schedule buffer time between meetings and tasks to allow for unexpected issues. ⤵ Batching similar tasks - I group similar tasks like returning calls and emails to work on them efficiently. ⤵ Setting aside strategic thinking time - I carve out 30-60 minutes to step back and look at the bigger picture. This high-level perspective allows for better planning. ▶ My day starts with a standup meeting with my team to align on the plan, address blockers, and prioritize. ▶ Next, I spend time updating project documents to stay on top of status and timelines. ▶ Communication is key - checking in with stakeholders, responding to emails, and prepping for meetings. I also connect with team members to empower them to do their best work. ▶ As the day winds down, I reflect on the day's achievements and challenges. I plan for the next day, prioritizing tasks and setting goals to ensure continuous progress. So, there you have it - a typical day in the life of this PM 😊 What structures make your routine more focused?
