Yet, many self-proclaimed and/or coronated "leaders" still think true leadership is completely executed via all the things it is not. It's no wonder so many companies have lost their way and have no idea how to get back to being successful. Here's a hint: people who are truly empowered to be their best will far exceed all expectations and they'll love doing it. Draconian managers are not leaders and squeeze the life out of organizations everywhere.

Their dignity more than their developments. And soon, their performance will supersede your predictions. The best way to invest in their future? Cast a vision powerful enough to shift them into the future ahead of time. But lead with a vision of their identity. Not a vision of their desired behaviour. Here's why: When you lead with a vision of 'becoming', it will always produce the most optimal behavior. In short: Tell them who they are. And sooner or later, they'll show you what they can do.
