Network, I'm looking for a good software that combines note-taking with next steps. Asana is a bit too limited for what I'm looking for. Do you have strong opinions on One Note, Evernote, Trello, Notion, or something else? Why do you love/hate that particular software?

About two years ago, we had a problem at PIC. Some people wrote great Asana tasks. Others provided no information. We were losing lots of time with back and forth on tasks, extra meetings and confusion. It was leading to friction across our teams and work not being done on time or to our best ability. Then Robb Luther worked with our team and came up with our B.O.R.R.A.T. task framework. This structure is used at PIC for all "Points Project" work and on any task, you can ask the assigner to create a Borrat for you. When I first had it presented to me, I thought "what the heck is borrat and why should I change, i already write good tasks". Now, I couldn't live without it. Below is the link to the official BORRAT definition, but here is how I think of it. - Background: The context and history of what you are working on. - Objective: What is the point of our effort? What are we trying to achieve - Requirements: List the specific deliverables and outcomes necessary for completion - Resources: All the people, links, files that are needed to complete the task - Approach: Guidance on how you would attack the problem such as order of operations or where you would start. Could also be suggested steps. - Timeline: When is it due? How many PIC points do we have budgeted? Now I'm not sure if this framework is good for your business. But I do recommend having a standard of how tasks, tickets or projects are assigned. Verbal, Slack or e-mail todos are BAD NEWS in my opinion and official assignments will reduce stress and improve priorities. We have a saying at PIC, "If it doesn't go into ASANA, you don't have to do it." I'd love to hear any tips and tricks anyone else has on assigning tasks to their team. We all love Asana but at times we feel frustrated about some limitations or features not being released, or we wish there was more information forthcoming. Three seasoned Asana consultants (Phil Seeman, Larry Berger, & I) combined their experience (over 90 years of software development experience and over 30 combined years working with Asana) to write a piece on the forum covering the typical statements: • “We have been asking for this feature for years; why isn’t it available?” • "How many votes does it take for a feature to be implemented?” • “Why isn’t Asana answering on the forum regarding this request?” • “This is easy; you can literally release this feature in an hour” • “Simply add an option to choose if we want this feature or not, and let users decide”“Why is Asana adding emojis when there are missing triggers in rules?” • “Monday has it!” • “Why did they release a half-baked broken feature?” Join the discussion on the forum! https://lnkd.in/dZCsPt6E — iDO - Asana Solutions Partner

Hey Asana, I contacted your support team two weeks ago. One week ago, I asked for an update. I still haven't got any response apart from an automated email with a case number. I understand that it sometimes might take a bit longer to answer support tickets. But two weeks without any feedback? This is not okay. Especially because I contacted your support team, because you show messages about upcoming changes to our Asana account to our employees that we absolutely want to avoid happening. Therefore: Please tell me what I need to do to get an answer from your support team.

Tech Tool Tip for Asana Users: Automate Your Routine! Set up recurring tasks in Asana for all the times you have to "rinse and repeat." Simply click on the task, select "Due Date," and choose "Set to repeat." If it’s something you can delegate, draft a quick checklist or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and assign the task to a team member. Streamline your workflow, and free your mind for bigger things. #AsanaTips #EfficiencyHacks

Checking in for INBOUND and was presented with an opportunity... Katrina Horne has been floating the idea of potentially moving Growth from Asana to ClickUp. Why do you love one or the other? Are there any other project management software options we should be considering? I'd love for the universe to connect us to both while we are here. Who should we talk to from Team Asana or Team ClickUp. Subscription needs - 20 seats (today) up to 30 (by signing time) - slack communication integration - time tracking - reporting - We do not share access to clients and we don't manage inside client accounts Katrina is an Asana Ambassador - so we recognize how big of a project this would be. To be 100% honest, the hours reporting function of Asana that shows hours turning into days vs just leaving it as hours is insanely frustrating. If they didn't have that problem we probably wouldn't be considering the change. Why is it like that 24 hours shows as 1 day So if we have a 200 hour project it shows 4 days and 6 hours. It drives me nuts. Help us! #projectmanagement

"How Asana Transformed Our Team's Productivity: A Success Story" At my previous company, we enhanced our productivity by implementing Asana to manage the development of a groundbreaking software product. Our cross-functional team, spanning engineering, design, and marketing, leveraged Asana to streamline our workflow and keep everyone aligned. We set up a dynamic project board with sections like "To Do," "In Progress," and "Completed." Clear task assignments, due dates, and priorities kept us on track and accountable. The result? Less confusion, no overlap, and more focus on what mattered most. Asana's powerful tagging and commenting features turned chaotic email threads into organized, real-time discussions. Our design team could instantly flag the engineering team on specific tasks, ensuring swift resolution of any issues. Integration with Slack and Google Drive further boosted our efficiency, enabling seamless communication and effortless document sharing. The intuitive progress tracking tools provided clear visibility into our project’s status, empowering managers to make quick, informed decisions. By centralizing our task management and enhancing team collaboration, Asana transformed our project delivery. We not only met our deadlines but exceeded expectations, showcasing what a well-oiled team can achieve. Asana wasn’t just a tool, it was our productivity catalyst! #Asana #Customerservice #Customersupport #Opentoworkremotely #Digitalwitchcommunity #30dayslearningchallenge

Okay, let's talk information (or tech stack for operations). A lot of running operations is about balancing information—too little and people can't do their job, too much and things get messy quickly. Asana is a real work-horse for us. It keeps everyone in sync, from marketing to customer service to operations and allows the top level to see, at-a-glance, what each team is working on and where they are stuck. But... It can't do everything. Dev work needs a much tighter structure, which is why we rely on Atlassian Jira for all the development tickets. And running our sales pipeline in Asana only lasted a week before we switched to HubSpot The key is finding the sweet spot for your business and your team, using the right tools for the right jobs (and keeping all the info synced together - hello Geeker.co automations experts!). What indispensable tech tools are you using to run your business?
