"AI will take over almost everything" Someone said this to me the other day, convinced that the main jobs we know today will be taken over by AI not too long from now. While another told me that AI will help scale the efforts of those already doing a good job on their own. Recently, when the entire India business leadership team convened, we made a conscious decision to " do something different", and the entire process proved to be thoroughly enjoyable. This innovative approach led to significant breakthroughs and assisted us in discovering fresh perspectives on addressing challenges that had not been previously considered. This post is not about that event though... I was wondering if we had kept a target of "doing something better" than the previous times, the process would not have been so enjoyable; rather, it could have built stress or unwanted pressure. Thus, the fundamental question arises: should we prioritize "doing different" or "doing better"? When we prioritize being "better," our focus often shifts towards incremental improvement of existing methods or processes. On the other hand, embracing "different" ensures divergent thinking and the exploration of unconventional concepts. The concept of "flow" resonates with this notion as well. So next time be different to try different!

He highlighted the crucial difference between identifying problems and crafting clear problem statements, stressing that finding the right problem to solve is essential before jumping into solutions. His memorable analogy about a rat infestation that ultimately required moving houses was particularly enlightening and drove the point home. "Innovation is first and Digital Transformation follows" His keynote, planned for 30 minutes, extended to an engaging hour filled with practical wisdom. Dr. Sid outlined seven essential steps for leaders embarking on their organization's digital transformation journey: 1. Teamwork for ideation 2. Thinking beyond the realms of rationality 3. Violate your conventions 4. Zero criticism to think irrational 5. Evolution of refinement of problem statement 6. Subsequent of best-fit problem statement 7.
