Week Well Spent My Experience as a PI Selection Panel Member at a Top B-School I recently had the honor of being invited by a top B-School to be part of the Personal Interview (PI) panel member. While I have been part of selection committees for MBA programs after undergraduate studies in the past, this was my first opportunity to interact with 12th-grade students who are applying for an integrated degree. The experience was truly different and enriching. Engaging with the current generation of students, understanding their mindset, aspirations, and perspectives was an eye-opener. Their enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and unique outlook on the future left a lasting impression on me. Key Learnings: 1. Thorough Preparation: These students had done extensive homework about the institute, demonstrating their commitment and keen interest. 2. Competitive Spirit: Their awareness of the kind of competition they would face and their readiness to tackle it was impressive. 3. Clarity of Goals: Despite their young age, many had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve and how the integrated degree would help them get there. I am grateful for this opportunity to learn from these young minds and to be a part of their journey as they step into higher education. This experience has broadened my understanding of the evolving educational landscape and the bright future of these students. #Bschool #Education #gratitudepost #Futureleaders #personalinterview

Frustrated with your GMAT / GRE score? Devika's story is not about test prep (far from it!), but it will still inspire you... She was planning to get an MBA after 30. But it's a strange dilemma... On the one hand, you know you're better prepared for it than you were in your 20s. Because you now have the professional maturity, and the clarity about what you like, what you don't and where you'd like to take your career. On the other hand, most schools show that the average age and experience in their class is lower. That makes it tougher to get in, if you don't have a good strategy. With American programs, you're looking at around 5 years of work experience on an average. European programs are shorter in length, and attract more mature professionals. Devika Mohole had her eyes on the Top 10 European programs. But regardless of the applicants' age, experience, leadership potential...there's still one big hurdle to cross - GMAT / GRE. Devika tried her hand at both...several times. No matter what she did, it just didn't work out. So she decided to put in the best application she could, that could help her tide over her not-so-impressive test scores. The risk manager knew her score made the application journey steeper and riskier. She'd need an experienced mentor to help her avoid rookie mistakes. She worked with MBA Crystal Ball for her applications. "They were not afraid of showing me the mirror, and despite my pushback, made me rewrite the essays until they were near perfect." she says about her mentors at MCB. Did the extra push and rigour on the applications work? You bet! From almost giving up on her MBA dream, Devika left all the GMAT/GRE disappointment behind and performed like a champ in the applications. Her score card: 6 applications --> 4 admits --> 2 scholarships Read her full story here: https://lnkd.in/dwuX749r In her debrief, she also explains a 'tiny mistake' she was doing in the interviews, that her mentor helped her fix that made all the difference in her final interviews. #businessschools #mba #gmat #scholarships

Hi everyone! I am collating a list of salient points that folks looking to apply for MBA in UK have asked me and my learnings from the process. A small caveat, this is my experience, which could be significantly different than the experience of members of my cohort. The idea of jotting these points down is to give a broad idea on how I approached the application process. ▶ Research Before making the decision on whether to give GMAT or GRE, I made a detailed Excel sheet (snippet attached) of B-schools I would ideally want an admit from. The list consisted of 25 schools. I used QS ranking, Poets&Quants, Sam Weeks LinkedIn, GMAT Club, My MBA Path and (of course) the individual school website to curate the information. The Excel helped me with the following: - Make a decision to give GRE - Set expectation of LORs - More information about schools from an organizational behavior and strategy perspective (areas I wanted to learn) ▶ GMAT/GRE I chose GRE over GMAT because I personally felt it was more important to play to my strengths (verbal) than confer to what schools could potentially prefer. I also knew GRE would be manageable with my work at that point of time. I used GregMat, can’t refer him enough - he is fantabulous! to get my prep out of the way. I gave my first attempt in May, because I wanted to keep a buffer in case I needed to make an attempt again, which in reality I had to. The second attempt was in July and I scored enough to get my foot in the door. ▶ In general approach to application Once the worry of GRE was out of the way, I made a list of B schools across countries that I would apply for in each round. This helped me stay on track! Please be cautious that a lot of the applications deadlines are very close to each other, and each application is unique from an essay perspective. I will deep dive about Oxford application specifically in my next post! I am also planning to make a post on scholarships! If there are any other specific topics that I should consider, please feel free to share with me. Please do not hesitate to reach out. I will do my best to assist you! I am here because of the kindness of a lot of people before me and I would love to pay it forward. #mba #mbaabroad #oxford #gre #gmat #mbaapplication

If you're someone/your kid is graduating in 2025, this is your golden chance to secure your seat at the top B-Schools (𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻🤯)! Yes, you heard that right. I have always been a big advocate of deferred MBA programs where you can apply during the senior year of your undergraduate (or final year of your master's program). The thing is, Anyone can take the GMAT at any point in their career, whether 2 years or 12. But not everyone is best suited to face the heat. People 2-3 years into their career have several problems: Getting out of touch from their learning phase. Worrying about their MBA applications For someone in the 2-3rd year of their college, a Deferred MBA is a golden ticket. With its pre-admission process, you can focus on building your resume for 2 years while your seat at top-B schools is reserved! This is the right time to start preparing if you haven't already! My DMs are open if you're looking for guidance 🙏 #mba #ivyleague #gmat #deferredmba

NCPs (non-class participation) are starting soon, our calendar is a battlefield. Three exams in one day – yikes! Research paper group project deadlines. Classes running late. Top it off with club interviews from 6-9 pm, each with multiple rounds. This is the life of an MBA student, ;) and the next week promises to be more. Though I am trying to follow up, - prioritizing the most heavily weighted topics. - Finding classmates with similar strengths and weaknesses to share study materials, and explain complex concepts. - Created a schedule with dedicated study slots, aligned with interview breaks. The same will I suggest to my batchmates. And I see, Leaning on the professors, and getting academic support to clarify doubts —saves time. to accumulate this, Not skipping the meals and getting enough sleep:) Will help. To my batch -let's maintain our sanity, lol. - #mba
