My favorite thing a company said to me early on when I started my business was: We want to keep doing it the same way we've always done it, even though it's not working and it costs more. Um….okaaay…. Well, those weren't the exact words, but basically that is what their response was when I told them I could help them hire better, faster, and more cost-effectively. The problem was it was different than how they were used to doing things. Change is hard, but doing it the same way that isn't better and costing more doesn’t seem like a great strategy to me. Recruiting has evolved - a lot. It’s a marketing, branding, technology, business development, and advocacy effort. You’ve seen the marketing funnel - it’s essentially the same, a recruiting marketing funnel. If you want to attract the right people and then retain them, you can’t do it the same old way that isn’t working. Employers that don’t evolve and innovate their hiring strategies will get left in the dust. #employerbranding #hiringstrategies #innovate #recruiting
