Chief Executive Officer and President at Community Housing Network

Just listened to an eye-opening podcast episode featuring Dr. Akilah Watkins on the power and influence of the nonprofit sector. Did you know that nonprofits are the third-largest driver of the economy? Yet, we often find our voices missing in crucial policy and decision-making spaces. Dr. Watkins brings to light many insightful points on how we can elevate the influence of nonprofits, especially at the federal level. This discussion is a must-listen for anyone committed to amplifying our sector’s impact and ensuring our voices are heard where it matters most. Kelley J. Kuhn - saw this and thought it might be interesting to our discussions about how to elevate the nonprofit sector in economic discussions. Kristen, this is a lot of the work we are doing right now at Michigan Nonprofit Association, including hoping to get the Bureau of Labor Statistics to publish nonprofit data with their general sector information.
