Oh my goodness.
I'd like to thank Gonzalo Lainez, Marco Carena, Guenther Neukamp, Gonzalo Gómez Estol, and Marine Vandenbossche for their recommendations.
I'm so happy for my partners when they get positive results - but I often disregard what role my efforts play in that result. Thank you for reminding me that my work makes a difference.
In our weekly project meeting, with Marília Campos, Bruno Vidal, Danilo Antoniolo, Ricardo Baptista, Gonçalo Antunes,Susana Carvalho Coutinho, Joao Susano, Luís Martins, Nuno C., Eduardo Borges, Susana Palminha e Marcos Santos, we come together with a spirit of mutual care that permeates all our interactions. We're a dedicated team that not only looks after our 60 clients but also each other. This isn't just about discussing metrics and strategies; it's where we share concerns, successes, and support each other.
The essence of our work lies in understanding that caring for our clients goes beyond providing a service - it's about building meaningful relationships based on trust and mutual respect. This same philosophy extends to our team. We recognize that we're stronger when we support one another, stand together in tough times, and celebrate victories together.
Furthermore, we take this time to recognize and celebrate both individual and collective achievements. Every win, no matter how small, is cause for celebration. It's important to remind ourselves of the positive impact we have not only on our clients but also on each other.
As we move forward on this journey, we reinforce our commitment to care not just for our clients but also for each other. We're a team united by a common purpose, and it's this cohesion and solidarity that propels us to reach new heights of success.

What does it mean to truly show up—for yourself, your team, and your clients? This was the focus of a town hall I had the privilege to facilitate last week in partnership with Impact Coaches Inc.
It began with a vision to bring the team together as they adapt to evolving work dynamics and expectations. Together, we saw an opportunity to create a space where the team could reflect on a critical question: How are you showing up? And to explore this from the perspectives of self, team, and client.
I was especially inspired by Justin Kutyan's own story and his commitment to fostering deeper connections and defining what’s next for the team—focusing on communication, trust, alignment, and the personal energy needed to move forward. The conversations went far beyond simply needing to return to the office; they were about showing up fully in service to ourselves, each other, and our clients.
It was an honor to guide these discussions alongside Sandra Oliver, Marcus Mackay, and Steven Wise, whose insights were invaluable in shaping the dialogue.
This experience reaffirmed that when we come together, create a space for dialogue and connection, we open the door to align, create and have meaningful change. Here’s to continuing to challenge ourselves, lean into the tough conversations, and always show up.

An amazing day with some of my friends talking to our team. Showing up for clients, your team, and yourself was the theme. Thank you Sandra Oliver, Marcus Mackay and Steven Wise for sharing your experiences.
The end of the year is always a special time at Svitzer Americas, and this year’s Awards Night was no exception. It’s a moment to reflect, celebrate, and honor the teams that have gone above and beyond.
Choosing the Technical Country of the Year was particularly challenging. In the maritime industry, the Technical Function operates in one of the most high-pressure environments—constantly managing crises, controlling budgets, ensuring the safety of our crew, assets, and the environment, all while maintaining vessel reliability.
For me, technical excellence isn’t measured by the absence of breakdowns or failures—those are inevitable in our line of work. What defines exceptional technical management is how we learn from incidents, how we respond with urgency, and how we turn setbacks into opportunities to improve.
This year, we’re proud to award Technical Country of the Year to the Statia Team! 🌟 They faced numerous challenges but demonstrated unwavering commitment to upholding Svitzer’s high standards across all their vessels. Their ability to adapt, solve problems, and deliver results showcases the best of what our technical teams can achieve.
A special shoutout to Theo Van Der Meer for leading the team with such determination and focus. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and you’ve set a benchmark for resilience and performance.
Congratulations to the entire Statia team—you’ve truly earned this recognition! 👏👏 Let’s keep learning, improving, and driving forward in the year ahead. Putting your team's success first. It’s about helping them grow and making sure they are recognized for their hard work. This shows that you value them and builds trust, making your team stronger and more motivated. By focusing on their achievements, you create a positive environment where everyone feels appreciated and works well together.
Celebrating 15 years of partnership with you!
As we mark this incredible milestone, we want to take a moment to thank you—our clients, candidates, and friends—for being an integral part of our journey. From the very beginning, our mission has been rooted in three key values:
Excellence: Offering deep expertise and tailored advice that drives impactful decisions.
Courage: Challenging the status quo and standing firm in our pursuit of the best outcomes.
Empathy: Listening, understanding, and building meaningful, long-lasting relationships.
Together, we’ve achieved so much, and we couldn’t have done it without your unwavering trust and support. Here’s to the next chapter of shared success—continuing to innovate, listen, and serve with excellence and care.

Building & strategizing together as BIPOC's in leadership.
For a long time we as BIPOC's didn't understand the power of collective strategizing, moving as ONE Force.
We are UN-stoppable when we recognize there's strength in numbers..... & COLLABORATE as a COLLECTIVE FORCE to elevate our systemically disenfranchised communities, entrepreneurs by harnessing our voices in harmony at tables & also build tables together creating our own space demostrating our economic power ....
....When there's a gathering of Collectively Great Minds, strategies only head ⬆️⬆️"UPWARDS"⬆️⬆️
Let's Go 👏🏾

Last week, I had the opportunity to catch up with my friend Rico Paul V. and finally meet Charlotte ABiOdun Epée-WillSuN 🇳🇬🇨🇲🇬🇭🇹🇬🇺🇸.
We shared ideas on our efforts and discussed ways to grow.
We also sparked a conversation with a new friend, Martin Froger Silva.
It's great to see amazing people coming together.
At Awardco, we strive to "recognize the good"—in our employees, our clients, and the world around us. Yesterday, I experienced the profound impact of this principle firsthand.
I lead an incredible team tackling an ambitious Q4 revenue goal. My role requires a careful balance of resource stewardship, culture-building, and navigating challenges as they arise. It’s rewarding work, but some days can be especially stressful. Yesterday was one of those days.
Out of the blue, two old friends—people I don’t work with and who aren’t in my immediate space—reached out to express kindness and encouragement. Their words were simple yet deeply meaningful, alleviating some of the stress I’d been carrying.
This experience was a powerful reminder of why recognizing the good matters so much. It uplifts individuals, fosters positivity, and strengthens the culture we’re building.
To my team, peers, and everyone working toward big goals: remember to acknowledge the good. It has a ripple effect far greater than we often realize. To Brandon Williams and DJ Strader thanks for your friendship and kind words.
Rolling up my sleeves and working alongside my team isn’t just about getting the job done; it’s about sharing in the thrill of discovery and the satisfaction of a challenge well met. It helps me stay grounded, reminding me that every idea and every effort counts. In these moments of collaboration, we not only build better solutions but also forge stronger bonds. #Leadership#Teamwork
