Some news from me.... I've been speaking with 2-3 marketers per week for the past few months who are asking for career guidance or advice for job interviews. And that volume is increasing. So much so that I've actually had to ask people to wait a couple of weeks before I can find time to speak with them. And for the first time in my career, I've actually had to turn down people who ask to be mentored, because I can only mentor so many people at one time while still doing a good job at it. Helping out other professionals, particularly in the world of marketing, is a passion for me. It's why I created 'Up Your Game' (both the podcast and the book) and now 'Cut the Bullshit' (both the podcast and the newsletter). Turning people down bothers me. After all, the first line in my LinkedIn "about" section says: "It's not about the knowledge you possess, it's about the knowledge you share." So I've been thinking hard on how to continue to help all those people who are coming to me for assistance. And I'm working on a couple of initiatives to help make myself, as well as the power of my network, more available to people who need the help. Hang tight while I work out the kinks. 🟧 What Type of Content is Best For LinkedIn? I appreciate Tony Restell's consistent research on how B2B companies are likely to be most successful on social media. Tony's recent research found it is when they focus on 3️⃣ things: ·        Growing an audience of their ideal clients / business partners / hires ·        Building trust and credibility with that audience through what they post ·        Finding ways to convert that audience so that you increasingly have a relationship with them off of LinkedIn (or any of the other social platforms) 🟧 From my side, I love storytelling as a way to make content meaningful and memorable. 🟧 And we can't underestimate the power of images! - This image got the most response from my recent photos I've shared - and I notice that real images get the most attention on LinkedIn, too... - Especially images with people in them - but today, mine is only the rainbow from our recent weekend break 😎 #worklifebalance Thanks for sharing your expertise, Tony ! STOP! Stop #marketing something your NOT good at yourself. This week alone I have seen 2 posts from companies claiming to be an "Expert" and when I checked on these so called "Experts", guess what I found, that's rite, their NOT. Saw a post yesterday from a Staffing owner, it read "Join me on XYZ Podcast on How to "Attract and Retain Talent". So, I pulled up their company page and looked at "their" employees and past employees. Well, they can only retain employees for an average of 4-6 months themselves. They have a senior role that has been filled 4 times in 2.5 years. Marketing fake remedies will eventually catchup to you and your reputation will take the toll for it and unfortunately, your company.
