The BRAIN & HEART of large-scale TRANSFORMATIONS // Chief Corporate Strategy Officer // Board Member // Game Changer

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗱. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲! Francesca Bria is a 2024-highlight for me. I had the pleasure to meet Francesca in person a few weeks ago at Serviceplan Group’s Innovation Day. Many might know her from her work as Chief Digital and Innovation Officer for the City of #Barcelona from 2015-2019. She left her mark by…. 👉 leading the smart city Agenda and by co-founding the Cities Coalition for Digital Rights. 👉 pioneering a digital platform (Decidim) to involve citizens at all stages of local government decision-making, from proposing ideas to budgeting. 👉 being a strong advocate for municipal technical sovereignty and proclaiming: the data belongs to the people. Some named her 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮’𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮: ‘𝘞𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 — 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥𝘴, 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘸𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦 — 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩. 𝘐𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘢.’ (𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘢 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘢) But Francesca Bria’s impact goes well beyond. 🚀 She serves as Senior Adviser to the United Nation (UN-Habitat) on digital cities and digital rights, launching the People-focused smart cities programme at the World Urban Forum. 🚀 On a European level she is – among others - leading the #DECODE project on data sovereignty in Europe and is a member of the EC President Ursula von der Leyen's High level Roundtable for The New European Bauhaus. 💥💥💥 Thank you, dear Francesca, for inspiring us with your clear vision of a 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 – focusing on data sovereignty and digital democracy that serves first the people and not the big tech companies. 💥💥💥 𝘗.𝘚. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 Niklas Maak 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸! #FuturePositive #HouseOfCommunication #TransformingSocietyTogether
