✨ A Memorable Experience! ✨ Reflecting on my participation in the SportsBiz Africa Forum 2024, I’m reminded of the incredible energy and thought-provoking discussions that took place. The event, themed "Empowering the Next Generation and Growing Africa’s Sport Industry," was a transformative platform for shaping the future of sport in Africa. The Careers Fair at the BK Arena was particularly impactful, offering young professionals invaluable insights into building careers in emerging sectors like e-sports, data analytics, and fan engagement. It was inspiring to share advice on navigating challenges, leveraging opportunities, and promoting diversity in sport leadership. During the Main Conference at the Kigali Convention Centre, I contributed to two panels: 1. Marketing Countries through Sport Tourism – Exploring how sport tourism can drive economic growth and enhance nation branding; and also contribute to enhancing brand Africa. 2. Rethinking Sport Management in Africa – Discussing the importance of innovative approaches to increasing competitiveness and achieving sustainable success in Africa's dynamic sport sector. Looking back, I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with passionate professionals and inspire the next generation of sport leaders. Events like these remind us of the incredible potential of sport to drive change and create opportunities across the continent. 🌍💡 #SportsBizAfrica #CareersInSports #AfricaSportsIndustry #SportsLeadership #EmergingSports

I am thrilled to share that I recently had the opportunity to present on a topic of my choice, and I'm excited to say it was a resounding success! As a former intern at Evidence Action Nigeria, I drew inspiration from my experience working alongside a talented team dedicated to creating social impact. After much contemplation and valuable input from my network, including former colleagues who shared their insights and expertise, I decided to focus on 'NGO Diplomacy: Strategies for Successful Stakeholder Engagement.' By integrating Evidence Action's initiatives with my understanding of international relations, I was able to deliver a comprehensive and engaging presentation that resonated with my audience. Here are some key takeaways on how NGOs can use diplomacy for successful stakeholder engagement: - Build trust and credibility through transparent communication - Foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders - Employ active listening and empathy to understand stakeholder needs - Leverage negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and find mutually beneficial solutions - Utilize strategic partnerships to amplify impact and influence I am grateful for the support and guidance from my network, particularly my former colleagues at Evidence Action, who helped shape my ideas and fueled my passion for this topic. Their contributions were invaluable, and I'm thankful for the experience and knowledge gained during my internship. Feel free to connect and share your thoughts on this topic! #NGODiplomacy #StakeholderEngagement #InternationalRelation #SocialImpact"

Developing African Human Capital! I am committed to developing African Human Capital because I know firsthand the struggles that many young Africans face when trying to enter the job market. After graduating, I spent 6 years job hunting, a common experience for many young people on the continent. Africa is the youngest continent today, with a population of young people that outnumbers all other continents. This demographic reality presents a critical challenge - if we do not invest in developing the skills and talents of these young people, we are facing an economic tsunami. That's why I founded YouthUp Global and now building Utidia cum Utidia Apprenticeship Institute (UAI). Our mission is to address youth unemployment and the skills gap by providing practical-based training programs. We leverage Apprenticeship, Internship, and Mentorship Programs to equip young people with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. We are on a mission to build the biggest Apprenticeship Training Hub in Africa, starting in Nigeria. We are open to collaboration with like-minded individuals and organizations who share our vision for empowering African youth. Together, we can create a brighter future for the next generation. Let's work together to unlock the potential of African Human Capital. Towards the Africa We Want! Before encountering AIESEC, I encountered several challenges: - Communication proficiency was lacking. - Excessive indulgence in social media platforms was prevalent. - Articulation of thoughts and ideas was often hesitant. - The intricacies of teamwork remained unexplored. - Self-assurance and confidence levels were notably low. Following engagement with AIESEC, notable developments ensued: - Proficiency in interpersonal communication blossomed. - An expansive network of social connections was cultivated. - Proficiency in time management was honed. - A palpable boost in self-confidence and assurance transpired. Should the prospect of AIESEC intrigue you, do not hesitate to initiate contact. Assistance and guidance are readily available.✌️ #AIESEConLinkedIn

🌍 Honored. Inspired. Driven. These past three months in Geneva have been transformative. As an intern at the United Nations' International Organization for Migration (IOM) Headquarters in the Department of Humanitarian Response and Recovery, I am right where policy meets action, working alongside global leaders committed to alleviating human suffering. Rumi once said, “What you are looking for is also looking for you.” I can’t think of a better way to describe finding my place here. Each day, I see firsthand the impact of global policies on communities in crisis—including those in Haiti. This experience not only reaffirms why I chose a path in Political Science and Social Policy, but also strengthens my resolve to one day bring this expertise back to serve my homeland. To my younger self, I’d say, “Thank you for dreaming big and believing in a purpose beyond yourself.” The humanitarian challenges Haiti faces call for leaders who are deeply committed to making a difference. This internship is preparing me for that future, adding depth to my role as Coordinator of the Youth Empowerment Organization (YEO) in Haiti and fueling my vision to build resilient, empowered communities. We are all here to uplift one another, especially when the stakes are high. Here’s to embracing responsibility, living with purpose, and committing to a future where service guides our every step. #HumanitarianResponse #ServingHaiti #IOM #GlobalImpact #YouthEmpowerment #Geneva #LeadershipForChange #PurposeDriven

First week ✅ On the 16th of September I started my Internship as part of my MSc in Human Rights and Diplomacy at the Permanent Representation of Malta 🇲🇹 to the United Nations 🇺🇳 in Geneva🇨🇭 It has been an intensive week, full of learning opportunities and hands on experiences. Working with an experienced team at the Mission, I was able to attend many informal consultations, dialogues and HRC sessions at the Palais des Nations-Unies. Participating in these sessions, I have gained a better insight into the work of the United Nations. Experiencing first hand the process of negotiations on a variety of draft resolutions, it is interesting to note the different approaches state actors take on human rights issues. Such exposure enables me to understand better the workings behind final resolutions and the intricacies which go into them.
