I had the privilege of being a panelist on hyperpersonalization with Jonathan Woolf, Eddie Short, Alexandra Foster, and the fantastic moderator Maria Greaves. One of the interesting points we discussed was the data silo problem—how fragmented data across different teams limits the potential of AI in marketing, while harnessing and fusing that data can make AI systems much smarter. To overcome this challenge, we need to unify data and technology across the organisation. Everyone should be able to talk data to share it effectively. This is where #AI and #TechLiteracy come into play. When team members feel confident diving into data, we can foster a collaborative environment that encourages sharing and innovation. By building a "Citizen Development" culture, we can unlock the full potential of AI and drive impactful changes. Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world of market research. One firm in particular, sens is helping to push the boundaries in South Africa. Founded in 2021, Sens is an Ireland, Dublin-based market research firm that takes advantage of behaviour technology, a new term that typically refers to technology-driven solutions or tools designed to influence, modify or track human behaviour. The platform uses AI to assess responses. A number of local companies including Adcock Ingram, Metropolitan, Pepkor, Discovery Health, Zella DC and Takealot are making use of Sens.
