Will anyone else's Christmas parties be done by December 5th? From conversations I'm not the only one who has been invited to a lot of early Christmas parties / lunches (I think a lot is actually misleading - what I mean is that a high percentage of those I will be invited to are happening in November). The first one I was invited to this year was in October - this is a record for me, but asking around I was not the only one. From the conversations I've had the thinking seems to work like this... 1. Last year everyone worked from home during December and did not want to travel into town for Christmas party with anyone other than friends 2. To avoid this happening again, this year we will have our Christmas parties whilst people are still in the office in November, and we will try and get in before Thanksgiving 3. Briefs that are usually being sent out in November, are now going to be sent out in December as no-one can party and write briefs. I know the same suppliers who are currently Christmas partying will be the same people grumbling about working over Christmas (including me) - even though it is our (collective) actions that have caused the change in behaviour. #people #work #behaviouralscience
