I make it easy for standout leaders to actually stand out | Image Consultant

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗜 𝗚𝗼... 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗜 𝗔𝗺. About 10 years ago, my therapist expressed concern about how much I travel. He gently asked if I might be running away from something or avoiding my problems. I smiled and replied, “Oh, I understand your concern. But wherever I go… there I am.” That was the end of that discussion. The truth is, I don’t travel to escape. I travel to find 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 of myself. I may be small in stature, but not in spirit or soul. Those parts of me are always expanding. Traveling, exploring, and spending time with far-flung friends fill me with joy and make my emotional bank account rich. Life isn’t just about business or professional success. It’s about relationships—first with yourself, and then with others. Growing up, people avoided me. Today, they can’t wait to spend time with me. That transformation didn’t happen because I ran away—it happened because I ran deeper into myself. I never abandoned my values, passions, vision, or purpose. And all of those tie into one thing: being and shining Light on those I love. That’s why travel is good for my soul. Wherever I go, I become more of who I am.

Buckeroo Bonzai in the Eighth Dimension. That's where I first heard that line: Wherever you go, there you are.

So surprising that a therapist would go with that line of thinking. 🧐 traveling allows us to find ourselves and give of ourselves. Greatest gift in life. Hope you are well, my friend. :)

I love that saying "wherever you go, there you are" too Joseph, so true that we can't run away from ourselves. I'm happy to know you ☺️

My favorite quote of all time: ‘Wherever you go, there you are.” So true. You can travel all over the world, but you cannot escape yourself. YOU GOTTA DO THE WORK!!!!

Truly uplifting! It’s amazing how you’ve turned travel into a way of deepening your connection with yourself, rather than running away from anything.
