Small companies aren't legally required to report their #carbonemissions, leaving some Directors to question the need to do so In an engaging Discussion Group during this month's Monthly Industry Meet-up, Nigel A. clearly explained the reputational and financial risks of ignoring #carbonreporting Nigel also shared 6 practical steps that #manufacturers can immediately take to reduce carbon emissions in their operations #ukmfg #ukmanufacturing #manufacturing #backingbritain #supportukmg #netzero #sustainability #sustainablemanufacturing
Interesting to see how ethics will play a part in the future supply chain, probably political and environmental concerns are both coming at British Manufacturers I think Small businesses are naturally more efficient and wary of waste. The problem comes with growth. Electric cars aren’t good enough for our use yet and the best of them are too expensive. Printing and letters are reduced. I would lay a lot of the problems at the door of distance things travel and packaging, so shipping long distance should be reduced where possible. Also countries with low carbon power generation should be promoted and rated or penalised Sorry I’ve read a bit about this subject but as one of the small company directors you’re talking about I have bigger wins else where in the company so not given a lot of time yet.
