Love this quote from the full article: "Previous energy transitions serve as a cautionary tale of divides between winners and losers. So, while the energy transition ahead is one of the greatest challenges facing the UK, it is also one of the greatest opportunities: a chance to learn the lessons from the past as the country builds a cleaner, greener, fairer, and more prosperous future based on renewable low carbon energy" Kim McCann and Karthik Ponniah discuss the challenges and opportunities to build a more equitable society through innovative energy solutions in this article from PA Consulting #TenShapesTen

The UK's transition to clean energy must be fair and equitable, ensuring everyone benefits. The recent energy crisis highlights the un-sustainability of relying on fossil fuels, that's even without highlighting the environmental impact. We're committed to helping individuals and businesses save energy and money. We champion accessible, clean, and affordable energy for all. The transition to clean energy in the UK has the potential to create jobs, boost the economy, and improve public health. However, the government must take steps to ensure this transition is fair and equitable. This includes investing in renewables, providing financial aid to low-income households, and creating green jobs. What are your thoughts on the UK's transition to clean energy? How can we ensure it's fair and benefits everyone? Businesses also have a role to play in this transition. By becoming accountable for their energy use, they can not only contribute to a greener future but also improve their profitability. This can be achieved by setting energy targets, monitoring use, investing in energy efficiency, and raising awareness among employees. Together, we can build a cleaner, fairer, and more sustainable future for the UK. How is your business contributing to a more sustainable future?

Will be speaking at the IEEFA Energy Finance 2024: Accelerating the Energy Transition in Asia. It's time we start thinking about Energy Transition not as a corporate or government led initiative but as the most pivotal transition in Human Civilization on planet Earth. We need to save ourselves by using the faculties bestowed on us. We can't play ignorant anymore!

We’re asking politicians to back a transition that’s sustainable. The UK offshore energy sector can help meet the country’s net zero commitment by 2050 or sooner. If politicians choose a homegrown energy transition, they’re choosing to reduce emissions in UK energy production and make sure that we retain the world class supply chain needed to help the whole economy reach net zero. We’ve set out detailed policies in our manifesto of what we need to make this happen: ➡️ An independent statutory body with the powers and resources to oversee the delivery of UK energy objectives and binding net zero commitments ➡️ An industrial strategy, for the length and breadth of the UK, which leverages our world class supply chain ➡️ Prioritise investment in strategic infrastructure – upgrading posts, transmission systems, rail networks, grids and more We believe the UK can become a leading green industrial power, offering high quality employment for a skilled workforce driving strong economic growth. We can choose to get the net zero by making the most of our people’s skills and heritage we can choose to increasingly rely on others. Choosing a homegrown energy transition will grow the economy, support jobs, champion our world class supply chain and deliver reliable supplies of cleaner energy in the UK. For the UK. 🌍 Achieving the UK’s net-zero targets depends on people, organisations and sectors that don’t usually collaborate coming together to figure out the joint action that’s needed. When we asked our stakeholders how the UK could accelerate the energy transition, we found that the market is talking about the same issues.💡 We’ve shared them to keep everyone in the picture.
