As leaders plan headcount requests for 2025, it’s essential to focus on the competencies and skills that future hires will need. With AI continuing to evolve, competencies like resilience, adaptability, and the ability to learn are becoming more critical than ever. Niche skills, while valuable, are less of a priority because individuals with these core competencies can leverage AI to quickly become experts in specialized areas. Hiring Managers: take a step back. Instead of fixating on specific, intricate “must-haves,” zoom out and identify candidates with the potential to elevate your organization. Focus on who they can become—not just who they are today.
