Despite the need for business impact, many let visual appeal cloud their judgment. The new ideal goal is to be change-makers. How do you achieve this? People often confuse “strategic design” with “design thinking”. But the power of #DesignThinking is actually quite limited without a strong leadership foundation. In other words, #StrategicDesign goes beyond problem solving. It integrates design concepts into organizational decisions, crafting holistic, resilient solutions for complex business challenges. Unlike design thinking's focus on specific problems, strategic design aims for systemic change and sustainability, embedding human-centered practices at an operational level. We all recognize that companies like Apple, Dyson, or Airbnb lead with design, but few understand how they maintain this beyond just having charismatic leaders or cool products/services.
