2 of the top mistakes sales reps (and those interviewing for sales positions) make are: 1. They talk about what they can do and how they help without discovering what is actually important to the customer. In interviews, people prepare so much for their responses and not enough on asking the best questions. 2. They leave interactions without locking in clear next steps, and get stuck in “following up.” In sales interviews, candidates are still not closing every single interaction for a next step. They end up chasing reps/recruiters/mgrs down for days and weeks. Don’t let this be the deciding factor that gets you cut from the process! 🫱🏼🫲🏽

Active listening is key in these interactions, but follow up is so important. How does this conversation move the business or interview towards the ultimate goal. The rep should always be able to answer that question at the end

Asking the right questions and understanding what the customer or interviewer values is key to success. And locking in clear next steps—whether in sales or interviews—prevents the dreaded follow-up chase. Solid advice for both reps and job seekers. 💪

Great points and IMO all very basic blocking and tackling for any sales position....If your not doing the basics your not ready to take on the elevated position

That is good stuff

Also, very basic advice here, but… ALWAYS TAKE A PHYSICAL RESUME TO AN INTERVIEW!
