The plenary session will be given special attention by the conference organizers and have a prominent slot in the conference program. The theme of the plenary session is: the future of island studies – discussions on innovative research and research methodologies, undisciplining the discipline, and bridging the gap between different schools of thought. We are keen to feature contributions which highlight ongoing research projects as well as those which identify opportunities for future collaborative research. We welome both presentations which use a traditional format and more innovative approaches – you will be asked to specify the approach you will take when you submit your abstract. It is intended that all speakers will take part in a panel discussion as part of the session. Deadline for submitting an abstract is 1st of November 2024 and it is intended that notification of abstract acceptance will be by the end of the same month. Today, I participated in the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) e-meeting as the Israeli country representative. The primary focus was addressing the high demand for in-person participation at the prestigious annual EAERE #conference. So many high-quality studies and valuable contributions are being left out of the program due to logistic constraints. We discussed several ideas to ensure that more groundbreaking research can be shared and that the EAERE conference continues to be a leading platform for environmental and resource economists globally. #EnvironmentalEconomics #ResourceEconomics #EAERE #Sustainability #Collaboration #Research
