⚠️ ijMPB EarlyCite Article⚠️ : “Governance of ESG implementations: governance dimensions and their structural implementation” 🖊Authors: Ralf Müller, Marie-Andrée Caron, Nathalie Drouin, Jon Lereim, Raimonda Alonderiene, Alfredas Chmieliauskas, Saulius Šimkonis, Raminta Šuminskienė This study aims to identify the governance dimensions critical for effective ESG implementation and to examine suitable governance structures within project-based organizations. Through a systematic literature review, the research identifies eleven key dimensions clustered into three categories: organizational settings, ESG strategy, and implementation. When mapped, these dimensions suggested an inverse relationship between governance hierarchy and complexity. 📓Interested in learning more? Nathalie, currently affiliated with UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal in Canada, through her hard work and dedication has guided the journal from its early stages to its current status as a worldwide recognized journal in the community of project management. Nathalie reflects on the journal's journey and and what's ahead: “For the past eight years, I have succeeded Derek Walker, the founder of the International Journal of Managing Projects in Business (ijMPB), as Editor-in-Chief. I am proud to highlight that, during this period, the journal's impact factor has consistently grown (Citescore from 0 to 7.0/ 2023 and 5-year IF from 0 to 3.2 /2023), further strengthening its position within the project management community. This success would not have been possible without the invaluable support of the researchers who chose to publish in the journal, as well as the unwavering commitment of the Executive Editorial Board, the Editorial Advisory Board, the reviewers, and, of course, John Wysalek, Editorial Assistant, who has supported me with dedication throughout these years. 🔓📝 ijMPB Open Acess Article 🔓📝 : “Let the people decide! Citizen engagement and enfranchisement in the front end of urban development projects” 🖊Authors: Lauri Vuorinen, Jere Lehtinen & Matias Ståhle This study explores how granting decision-making authority to citizens (citizen enfranchisement) can enhance value creation in urban development projects. A multiple case study was performed to analyze two Northern European cities where citizens actively participated in ideating, designing, and selecting projects. The findings show that sharing authority with citizens leads to more democratic processes and higher levels of stakeholder engagement, moving beyond symbolic participation to actual decision-making power. 📓Interested in learning more? The study through semi-structured interviews finds that a principle-based approach, due to its flexibility, allows for continuous adaptation and improvement, matching the iterative nature of agile methods. 📓Interested in learning more? Meet Dr. John Wyzalek he is the journal’s editorial assistant, where he performs desk reviews of regular issue submissions. He is a post-doctoral researcher affiliated with the UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal and a teaching assistant in the MBA program at Montclair State University , Montclair NJ USA. John is an established editor and writer who combines his research experience with his decades of editorial experience. In John’s own words: “Working on the journal has been an invigorating experience that has broaden my horizons on what constitutes the theory and practice of project management. Collaborating with the new editorial team will continue to further my view on the broad and ever-evolving field of project management. Under Dr. Nathalie Drouin’s direction, we have worked to establish rigorous review criteria that have raised the journal’s rankings. The new editorial team brings vast knowledge and expertise that will further guide how I perform desk reviews.
