We are in the -ber months - Hello, October! And while the -ber months bring holidays, fun, and core memories, it can also bring a multitude of feelings like stress, chaos, resentment, and regret. It’s also the time that a lot of people slow down, step back, and forget or give up on their goals. But it can also be the perfect time to reset, renew, refocus, and set a strong foundation for, not just the last few months of the year, but a strong start to a new one. This is the time of year where you can take time to pause, breathe, reflect, plan and prepare. It’s also a time for a lot of coaches and entrepreneurs to set their “Last 90 Day” goals or “Finish the Year Strong.” The Twelve Week Year is a business book about planning, goal setting, and review in quarters. Basically setting smaller goals and checking in to review how it’s going so you can change and pivot as needed. Through research the authors discovered that when business or people plan for a year long goal, then tend to wait until November to truly hustle and focus and catch up, but if you set quarterly goals and review as you go, you are more likely to not only make progress, but actually achieve the goals you set before you. It’s that time of year again! The deadlines are looming. The holiday trips are being planned. 2024 is on its last lap. But how are you planning to cross the finish line? Some of us are sprinting to meet goals. Some are pausing to recharge. And some are just trying to make it through the chaos. Wherever you are, here’s a thought: Before 2024 officially ends, take a moment to celebrate the small wins you’ve had. Maybe you started something new. Maybe you let go of what wasn’t working. Or maybe you just showed up, even when it was hard. And as we step into 2025, let’s not wait for January 1 to make a resolution. Plan that trip now. Start that project now. Take that leap now. Because life doesn’t need a reset button—it just needs action. So, how are you wrapping up 2024? Is it with gratitude? A bucket list? Or just some well-earned rest? And… be honest—are you the “New Year, New Me” type or the “Let’s see how it goes” gang? Me? I’m somewhere between “plan everything” and “wing it.” But one thing I know for sure: This month isn’t just about looking back or planning forward—it’s about living now. So, here’s your nudge: Plan that trip you’ve been dreaming about. Call that friend you’ve been “too busy” for. Or just take a day to celebrate you. Life’s short. December’s shorter. Make it count. Drop your vibe for December in the comments: Are you on team hustle, holiday, or hibernation? Let’s hear it!

This time of year is crazy, huh? Which is itself, crazy, because the whole point of the summer holidays is it's supposed to be relaxing. In my experience, though, the rush prior to the holidays is so farkin' mental that it takes almost the entirety of the summer holidays just to recover from THAT, so the holiday itself does almost nothing for your overall level of chill. I reckon that's ridiculous. So, a few years ago I adopted a new strategy for my business. When planning my year, I set my revenue goal, and then divide it by ten; that's my monthly target. That's right. If I'm aiming for a $500K year, I'm aiming for $50K months. Why? Because it means when you get to this time of year, you don't have to stress. My revenue goal for January is ZERO. My revenue goal for December is half what November was. Same for February. I consider both December and February to be half-months. The second half of December is chill-time. Same for the first half of Feb. Over the next couple of weeks, I've got a couple of sales to make, and then I'll wind down. I'm going to cruise into Chrissy, then completely chill and do almost nothing (just a few webcasts with the Solo Pro crew, pretty much) for January. I won't feel guilty, I won't feel stressed. (Well, I've got three kids, so maybe I will, but work won't be the cause 😂). I'm a big fan of Jason Fried's work, including the book 'It Doesn't Have To Be Crazy At Work'. As a statement, that's even more true for solo pros than it is for organisations, because we have total executive control. Look after yourselves, peeps ☺️

Why Wait Until January? It’s almost December, and Christmas is around the corner. It’s tempting to say, “I’ll start in the New Year.” But let’s fast-forward to January: That first week is a whirlwind. You’re tired, recovering from the holidays, juggling work, and trying to get the kids back into a routine. “I’ll start next week,” you tell yourself. Then week two rolls around. You still don’t feel ready. So you push it back again. Before you know it, January’s gone, and you’re no closer to where you want to be. Sound familiar? Here’s the thing: waiting doesn’t make it easier. Starting now—today—does. Imagine this: • You finish a session and feel amazing. • Your outlook shifts—you’re calmer, more patient, even with the kids. • Life’s daily stresses don’t weigh you down like they used to. • And when you go to bed? You sleep better than you have in months. This isn’t some far-off goal for six months down the line. It’s the instant payoff of getting started. If you’ve been waiting for the “right time,” maybe it’s time to stop waiting. Of course, the choice is yours. But know this: we’ll be here to support you whenever you’re ready. So, why not make today that day?

When you say "5 years ago" or "10 years ago," what do you mean? How come it's 5 months to Christmas? Consider that yesterday, you said, "Today, I will do this and that." Then, you either did it or did not do it. Yesterday is now in your past. One day, you might say, "Five years ago, I did this and that," or you may find yourself saying, "I wish I had done a certain thing five years ago." That five years ago will have been today. Since we are already in June, and so you do not minimize how quickly past tense comes about, consider that: In 5 months, we will start saying, "Happy holidays!" If we go by the same thought, we have already passed 5 months since January. Depending on the variance between what you plan to do and what you do, you may reflect on your answer to the question, "Where did the time go?" This makes me add a quote from Business Bull: The past is in your head, and the future is in your hands. If you think about this quote, you may ask how your hands are holding this future and what future it is. Let us not forget the past because it is in the most important part of our body: our heads. If you think about it, you will see that the past that is in your head determines the future you hold and how you hold it. The more you can take the driver's seat in your head or mind, the more you can shape today, creating your future and your past. Palatable ones. It takes practice if your past is mainly negative, but you know the proverb about how to eat an elephant, right? With that, did you know that today is a great day to have a great day? plus, What makes your day a great day? June, 2024 it is. From yours truly, Eve Speaks mindset and habits. #personaldevelopmentwitheve

There comes a time for every leader when the overwhelm feels unbearable. Maybe it’s sitting at your daughter’s holiday recital, but instead of enjoying the moment, your mind races with unfinished tasks. Or it’s feeling the guilt of checking emails during family dinners instead of being fully present. For some, it’s the dream of taking extended time off during the holidays—but the fear of their business crumbling without them keeps it from becoming a reality. If this resonates, here’s the truth: not everything on your plate deserves your energy. Enough is enough. Let 2025 be the year you learn to work smarter, not harder. ✨ Imagine this: showing up to your child’s recital fully present, knowing everything that matters is handled. Taking that holiday vacation guilt-free, confident that your team has things under control. This isn’t just a time-management method—it’s the key to reclaiming your life and leading with intention and ease. If you’re ready to stop the cycle of burnout and start leading with clarity, let’s talk. I’m inviting you to book a free clarity call with me and step into the time freedom you deserve. 🌟 Link in comments.

🦋The holiday season is always a prime time to reflect on the year at-large. What joyful moments did you experience? What challenges did you overcome? What hardships did you face? What relationships did you invest in? How did you give back - to yourself and others? Think about your year and what it has meant to you. And, just to clarify, I don't mean this to be a time where you beat yourself up with shouldas, couldas, and wouldas. Of course, we can all point to things that we wish we'd done differently, but that's not the point. The point is to take stock of your year and reflect in a way that uplifts you or challenges you to do better, but does not condemn you. So, as 2024 winds down, look at your year with empathy and grace. Allow yourself to feel proud of who you are today vs when the year began, and reflect on the lessons you've learned along the way.
