It is going to be very difficult for any human to pull off a John Henry-like usurping of the new machine record, which is more than 10 times faster, at 0.305 seconds. That's within the accepted time frame for human eye blinking, which averages out to one-third of a second. TOKUFASTbot, built by Mitsubishi Electric, can actually pull off a solve in as little as 0.204 seconds on video, but not when Guinness World Records judges were measuring. Meet "Jokkeri", our first ANYmal robot in Finland, which has started work at our ferrochome plant in Tornio. The robotics provided by ANYbotics supports Outokumpu’s vision of achieving the lowest accident frequency rate in the industry by 2025. “At our Ferrochrome plant, the robot is focusing on reducing personnel exposure to for example noise, dust, and vibration. Introducing the robot in Tornio is a further step towards an even safer environment and increasing the efficiency of routine processes”, says Teijo Södervall, Vice President, Ferrochrome plant, at Outokumpu. Outokumpu now has three robots operating at its sites – Rosie in Germany, Angie in Sweden, and Jokkeri in Finland – with multiple daily tasks. Outokumpu hired 3 #ANYmal robots, to expand the use of robotics in safety management: 🤖 Jokkeri inspects the Tornio ferrochrome plant to reduce workers' exposure to noise and dust in the crushing area. 🤖 Angie in Avesta inspects over 250 points daily, helping workers be more efficient in the acid regeneration plant. 🤖 Rosie in Krefeld works also in the acid reg area, and will move to the furnace soon. Goal: reduce workers exposure by 80%, and repairs by 20%.
