For my first post on here, I want to talk about a pivotal point I recently went through in my career.
In the beginning of March, I was asked if I would like to switch my full time marketing position to be a freelance social media manager due to budget constraints.
I had been thinking of joining the freelance world for months already and had told myself I would start in the summer. When I got asked if I wanted to switch my position, I was so scared. Although it was something I was planning to do, I was still constantly going back and forth on whether I should risk giving up my full time position to attempt to freelance.
With a little over 3 years of experience in marketing, I was ready to take this step but still had so many doubts take over my mind. Would I be able to find clients in such a competitive field? What if I am underestimating the workload? What if I can’t sustain myself doing this?
Fast forward a couple months, I am so grateful I didn’t let my doubts get the best of me and I went for it. I have amazing clients, I get to manage my own schedule, I am making more money than ever before, I don’t feel burnt out creatively. I am doing what I love while also having the freedom to do it from anywhere in the world.
I am writing this post not just to express how proud I am of myself, but to also motivate those that find themselves in the same position I once was in. If you are confident in yourself, your work, and you chase after what you want, everything else will fall into place like it’s supposed to. It is the best decision I have made in my career.
With that being said, if you or anyone you know is looking for someone manage their social media whether it be content creation, influencer marketing, email marketing or more, message me and we can discuss your goals and how I can help your business!
