2 years of freelance social media management – what has it taught me? It’s definitely a love-hate relationship with social media. Some days, my posts go viral and I’m on top of the world. The next? 200 views and 20 likes. Seriously, what’s that about?! 😅 Also, my voice no longer bugs me! Weird, right? When I worked in a call centre, I cringed every time I had to listen back to learning calls. Now I edit 3-4 videos a day with me in them, and it’s just... normal. Freelance doesn’t mean fewer hours, but I don’t mind. This is mine – all the extra hours go into building my brand. Yes, sometimes I’m editing at 10:30pm, but I always make sure I have plenty of family time, especially at the weekends. What has social media taught you? #FreelanceLife #SocialMediaManager #Freelancer #WorkLifeBalance #WilcoxMedia #BuildingABrand #DigitalMarketing

▶ Chasing virality can lead to watered-down content. ▶ Focusing solely on trends can cause you to miss your authentic voice. ▶ Not every post will be a home run. It's more important to: 1️⃣ Provide genuine value: Address pain points, solve problems 2️⃣ Offer unique insights: Share your industry expertise. 3️⃣ Craft content with care: Proofread and use visuals wisely. 4️⃣ Find your niche: Become the go-to expert in a specific area. Quality content builds a loyal community of engaged followers over time. 🙌 #contentmarketing #qualitycontent #evergreencontent — 👋🏻Hi! 😢Do you know what is the sad reality? The sad reality is that there's someone 4x dumber than you but with 2x of your results. Because they decided to take action! As a freelance social media marketer, you might encounter someone who isn't as skilled as you but achieves better results simply because they took action💪 For instance, imagine a freelancer who decided to experiment with Threads and gained significant traction with their regular posting, despite not being an expert in that platform. 🗝️The key takeaway is to embrace the "just do it" mentality and continuously improve your skills through practical experience and experimentation. So, what's one area of social media marketing you've decided to dive into, regardless of initial expertise? . . . #freelancer #socialmediamanager #personalbranding

I haven’t been posting as frequently on here as I had hoped for May. But that’s okay… Sometimes you go through phases where you may struggle to think of content ideas or your just simply burnt out 🔥 I have been so busy with so many different aspects of my life. But it’s also been pretty good, my freelance work has had a bit of a kickstart in recent weeks 🙌🏻 But I decided what it was that I really missed, and that was Content Creation & Influencing. I have been an ‘influencer’ (I hate that word lol) for the last 6 years, but for some reason I took a step back a few years ago. But I missed it, I missed creating the content that I loved and I knew that I needed to get back to it. For me. So that is where I have been for the last few weeks, focusing on both sides of my business! Also, guess what… I still gained followers and people were still interacting with my posts 😌 Just because you take a break, it doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world 👀 So the point of this post is: You will be absolutely fine. Take that break if you need it 💤 ————————————————————— Hey there, I'm Lily, a freelance social media manager looking to work with more businesses worldwide. In the world of social media, authenticity is key, and that’s why I’m sharing my three favorite content ideas to keep things real and relatable. First up is ‘Day in the Life.’ People love seeing the behind-the-scenes! Showing a day in my life as a freelancer gives followers a real glimpse into the work, the hustle, and those rewarding ‘aha’ moments. Next, we have ‘Expectation vs. Reality.’ There’s often a big difference between what people think freelancing is and what it’s really like. Sharing the ups, the downs, and the surprises of freelance life builds trust and helps set realistic expectations. Finally, ‘Worst Advice’—we’ve all heard it! From ‘just post daily for engagement’ to ‘every client knows exactly what they want,’ debunking these myths gives useful insights and helps followers avoid common pitfalls. These content ideas connect us to our audience in a meaningful way. They’re not just posts; they’re stories that resonate and bring value. #SocialMediaContent #FreelancerTips #AuthenticBranding #ContentIdeas #FreelanceLife #DigitalMarketing
