Interesting Paid Program piece on liquid cooling to support AI quoting Sean Graham at IDC and Michael McNerney at Supermicro. Liquid cooling is indeed relevant to support AI deployment in DCs and there are three options: direct to chip, in-rack and immersion. However, it is our view it is single phase liquid immersion at scale like Firmus Technologies that is the true north for supporting the next generations of AI GPU compute. https://lnkd.in/gFQ_nerd

Computing will require colossal amounts of power, soon exceeding what our planet can provide. One way to manage the unsustainable energy requirements of the computing sector is to fundamentally change the way we compute. Superconductors could let us do just that. Superconductors offer the possibility of drastically lowering energy consumption because they do not dissipate energy when passing current.

“Accelerated Computing” is the new buzz word where organizations are in constant look out for faster and energy efficient processing systems. As datacentre service providers are upgrading their systems with more and more computational power, they also need to manage carbon emissions and control energy consumption. This is where “Accelerated computing” plays a crucial role to perform a balancing act between energy consumption and computational speed. https://lnkd.in/gZ9ktCPy #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #GPU #sustainibility #acceleratedcomputing https://lnkd.in/g-nM_y7x

In the face of a tech-driven energy surge, there is a critical need for sustainable power solutions. With AI and quantum computing set to increase data center energy use six-fold, the intersection of technology and the energy transition will require energy efficient approaches for thermal management. For example, immersion cooling with FUCHS RENOLIN FECC 7 offers higher processing speeds and greater reliability than conventional air cooling. #ai #quantumcomputing #datacenter #energytransition #immersioncooling #fuchs #renolinfecc7 https://lnkd.in/grAqTCP7
