Quick #publicspeaking reminder: YOU own the stage. You may be speaking at someone else's event, but it is still your stage. You don't need to be stuck behind a podium. You don't need to be confined to the front of the room. You can move (with intention) wherever you need to in order to make an impact. You can ask for a different mic. You can ask for the sound to be adjusted. You can ask for whatever you need to be effective. This, obviously, does not mean being overly needy. We are speakers. We are not Super Bowl halftime performers. We do not need the unreasonable, nor should we ask for it. But if someone hands us the mic (literally and figuratively), we own the stage. Happy Halloween! 🎃 (A friendly note! The following story is satire and fully fictional. So there is no reason to get angry because this just doesn’t exist in reality….) Here is the feast of scary characters, but there are some characters you’d like to avoid at all times. Meet Mr. Draincula, our hero whose aim is to take our souls to deliver his own agenda. In this story it is he/him, but the character is able to appear in any gender. He can live anywhere in the organisation and influence many teams and individuals. He is known to create teams with high morale, loyalty, efficiency and productivity. He has been in the business so long and has always contributed successfully. He has a reputation of getting the most out of teams. His methods are best in class and have been proven to work for over decades. Teams under his influence have experienced short-term success. If they haven’t it’s not because of him and his methods. Teams are just lazy and get dismantled likely sooner than later. Are you ready to learn and follow the master? Here are Draincula’s 6 rules to create efficient teams:

Coffee thoughts ☕️☕️ The other day I stumbled upon a thought-provoking video of Arnold. As someone who has great respect for Arnold as a bodybuilder, actor and a politician, I couldn't help but take a few minutes to listen to what he had to say. He discussed the impact of his screen roles, on his everyday lives, the importance of staying authentic and true to who you are. But it wasn't until the end of the clip that I found Arnold sharing a very profound point about life 👇 He said, "there are no self-made man on this planet.: Life is a team sport." He proceeded by saying, "Who your friends are, who you're with you every day, will make or break your dreams... you cannot do much of anything in this life at a high level without a rock-solid team." I felt his words deeply within me. I immediately thought about the individuals in my own life and the roles they play in shaping my dreams and aspirations. Some have been huge supporters, always there to provide encouragement and help me grow, while others might intentionally or unintentionally hinder my progress toward those dreams and aspirations. Arnold’s message was a great reminder to constantly evaluate my own team - the friends, family, mentors, and acquaintances who surround me. 👉 Do they uplift me, challenge me, and inspire me to be the best version of myself? 👉 Or are there relationships that, knowingly or unknowingly, hold me back from reaching my full potential? To me, these are the questions worth asking. From one fellow human being to another, take a moment to consider the people in your life - the dream builders and the dream breakers 🤔 Identify those who empower you, challenge you, and help move you forward. Equally important, recognize those whose presence may hinder your progress. Do leave your views and thoughts, if you have sone one who has helped in shaping your life and you want to talk about it? From School Plays to Boardroom Presentations: The Timeless Lesson of Projecting Your Voice. In theater, I was always told to project my voice and enunciate my words to ensure that the person at the very back of the room could hear me just as well as the person at the front. This invaluable lesson, which I first learned at 12 years old during drama classes and while playing in my school's adaptation of "Grease", has stayed with me ever since. It is funny how we recall these childhood lessons when we are much older, standing on a different kind of stage, facing an audience of our peers. Whether presenting the latest sales figures or announcing a breakthrough innovation, I find myself remembering those early days. As I stand on that stage facing all of the people, I am actually still that 12-year-old boy. The nerves and the fear of forgetting my lines never completely go away. But the lesson of projecting my voice and enunciating my words is one I carry with me. The Hidden Wisdom in a Conversation. Ever had a conversation that left you with unexpected wisdom you wished you'd written down? I recently did, and here are a few gold nuggets worth sharing from a chat with an Actor and a GM. Gold Nugget #1: Rejection is part of life—but the key is finding something to celebrate in every rejection. The actor shared how auditioning often leads to roles you don’t land. Instead of dwelling on the “why not,” celebrate the courage it took to try. Use that audition video for future roles or recognize the resilience it took to keep going after a “no.” It’s all about perspective. Gold Nugget #2: Be your own advocate, as it's not on anyone else to be. Know your true value—not what you wish it to be, but what it genuinely is—and communicate it with confidence. Stand up for your strengths. Gold Nugget #3: Life is about priming. One person sees rain; another sees a rainbow. We often find what we’re looking for, so why not look for the rainbow? Gold Nugget #4: Fill your “cookie jar” with small wins. In tough times, look for little victories. These may seem insignificant to others, but they’re a step in the right direction. Over time, they build up, becoming a reserve of motivation you can draw from. Remember, not every day brings a big win, but every step forward builds momentum.

If you say that you don't have time, you're lying! 😲 Wowsa, that was a bit harsh for a Monday morning. Tell me more... ⏰ Step one - we'll disprove the lack time theory once and for all. Now, that can be some scary shit - because once we know time isn't the real barrier, we get into the big, hairy audacious stuff 🦸♀️ Step two - break that big stuff down into achievable actionable steps A little time exploring the heartfelt, completely personal to you 'what and why' makes it easier to get to the 'how and by when'.
