Did you know that Agile change or change towards it or Agile transformation fails because Agile is simply not understood deep enough. If we look at Agile from the surface (Agile manifesto) - it is like looking at titles. Or if we attend surface level Agile trainings and play games - it is the same. Here's a deeper look at what's beneath: https://lnkd.in/dBGE8UAJ In very short summary - it's about people to whom others report to and how they determine THE PLACE and THE WAY. I'm the first to say that established agile teams sometimes find approaches that work for them outside of the rules of Scrum. But I don't suggest that new teams try to go outside of the Scrum "box". In fact I think that there's value for established teams to think and work within the Scrum "box". Why? Because frameworks enhance creativity. Don't believe me? This! When you want to schedule feedback should influence how long your sprints are. Is 2 weeks too long? 3, 4? How much time do you want to waste being wrong? Get feedback early and often - unscheduled and recurring. Just prioritize it!

Using Scrum effectively is impossible without the feedback loops of the framework. It is like expecting a bird to fly without feathers on their wings. The bird can flap, it won't fly. You can attend the Scrum events, but success won't come. The power of Scrum, or any incremental method of delivery, lies in the feedback that you get. It is this feedback that helps you fly. It is this feedback that enables you to learn more about your customer: their needs or the value they are seeking. It is this feedback that helps you better understand the product you are delivering: its intricacies, its subtle details, its edge cases. It is this feedback that must trigger change -- why have it otherwise? Why would we have to bother with incremental delivery then, if the feedback doesn't challenge our assumptions about our customers or our product. Why have feedback if it doesn't provoke change. If you are not interested in acting on feedback, please don't, please don't... use Scrum or incremental delivery and expect it to deliver value sooner for your customers. You can still keep flapping though -- you just won't take off.

🚀 Day 19 of our Agile & Scrum series is here, and today we're delving into the heart of Scrum: its values! 🌟 In Scrum, values aren't just buzzwords – they're the guiding principles that shape our actions, interactions, and ultimately, our success. Let's take a moment to explore these values that form the backbone of effective teamwork and continuous improvement: 1️⃣ Courage: Are we willing to speak up, challenge the status quo, and take risks for the betterment of our team and project? 2️⃣ Commitment: How committed are we to achieving our goals and delivering value? Are we dedicated to our team's success, even when faced with obstacles? 3️⃣ Focus: Amidst the whirlwind of tasks and deadlines, can we maintain focus on our priorities and the end goal? 4️⃣ Openness: Are we fostering an environment of transparency and honesty, where feedback flows freely and everyone's voice is heard? 5️⃣ Respect: Do we value the opinions, contributions, and diversity of our team members? Are we treating each other with empathy and understanding? These values aren't just checkboxes to mark off – they're the essence of what makes Scrum work. By embodying them in our daily practices, we pave the way for collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth. So, as we dive deeper into our Agile journey, let's reflect on how we can embrace these values in our teams and projects. 💡 What challenges have you faced in upholding Scrum values, and how did you overcome them? We killed agile! 💀✝ It's funny how agile was so hyped and every other company would do multiple ceremonies and duel over estimating in hours or story points. Every other new engineer would question how story points work and get confused by it. In reality, of course, we haven't really killed agile. But I've seen quite some change in the industry overall and teams building more mature processes. Really understanding that what works for each team is different and adapting their ways of working. We went from just following frameworks to iterating over our own processes. In my point of view, the most important is to answer those 3 questions: - Alignment: Do we have a clear scope? - Predictability: Can we commit and feel accountable for a timeline to achieve it? - Risk mitigation: Can we flag issues early enough? If you have a clear scope it is likely it is small enough, so your team can set realistic timelines, you can understand the impact it can bring to your clients and you can track progress. If Product and tech team are able to be accountable for their timeline, sales, marketing and the other teams can follow up with their plan be able to work in the audience and distribution. When able to flag issues early, we can course correct, drop scope, change requirements or adapt anything in the distribution. It also highlights that your scope was clear defined and that you understand the steps blocked in your path. Now... how you achieve this can change from team to team. Scrum, Kanban or else is just a framework that can potentially help you on that. What helps you the most in you process?

As a developer, I've seen firsthand the transformative power of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, in driving efficient and collaborative software development. Scrum isn't just a framework; it's a mindset shift that empowers teams to adapt to change, deliver high-quality products, and foster continuous improvement. From sprint planning to daily stand-ups and sprint reviews, every aspect of Scrum emphasizes transparency, communication, and teamwork. But the real magic of Scrum lies in its ability to empower developers to take ownership of their work, iterate quickly, and deliver value to customers with each sprint. It's not just about following a set of rules; it's about fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability. What has been your experience with Scrum? How has it transformed your approach to software development? Let's share our insights and learn from each other! Drop your thoughts in the comments below. #AgileDevelopment #Scrum #Teamwork

3moRed it through. Beautiful summary and attempt to give a glance under the surface of the agilemanifesto. Wish more people and curious and stubborn enough to read it and take time to reflect, talk with their colleagues at work, get inspired and hopefully pursue an experiment.
