I am preparing for a speachshop for the Baltic's largest #Agile event (https://lnkd.in/dumTv_C2) in October. It will be about Agile for #management where we will do a surgery of few old Agile principles from the good old Agile Manifesto (https://lnkd.in/djsFbmvj) for the benefit of people in charge. It will be practical and with examples from my own experience. So, as I am diving into the details, I discover that the practices we will inspect & try are from years 1980s, 1990s and a bit of 2000s. If someone says that Agile is dead, well it cannot be true, because Agile was not born yet when those practices existed. The point is that if something is not known or understood well enough, saying it is dead is primitive and shallow. Join my speachshop - it might resurrect Agile for you if you still think it is dead. Let's know more, go deeper and do not let stuff die too early! 😎

In this agile era of product development, documentation often takes a backseat, perceived as a drag on our productivity. But, for me it has never been the villain but a hero in disguise. Here's why: 1. **Creating a Knowledge Base**: Documentation acts as a comprehensive repository of decisions, iterations, and choices made throughout the product's lifecycle. This treasure is invaluable not just for me or my team but for future talents stepping into these roles. 😊 2. **Enhancing Collaboration**: It enables synchronous work on ideas and concepts, bridging gaps between teams and ensuring that collaboration is seamless and efficient. 3. **Saving Time on Explanations**: The luxury of referring someone to a document instead of re-explaining concepts is a significant time saver, always. 😄 4. **Structuring Thoughts**: Personally, It helps to organize my thoughts and guide discussions towards desired outcomes. Confluence by Atlassian has been my go-to tool, simplifying the documentation of everything from PRDs to design links and go-to-market strategies. It empowers my team and me to maintain agility without sacrificing the depth and quality of our work. Which tools do you use ? #ProductManagement #Documentation #Agile

Loudoun Agile Network (LAN) is bringing on a very interesting topic for the May meetup! Our esteemed speaker Andrew Long will present “𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭’𝐬 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞-𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬”. Agile methodologies have revolutionized how we deliver software, emphasizing speed, quality, and collaboration. But what about the bottom line? As Agilists, we must move beyond assumptions and demonstrate tangible financial impact. Agile isn’t just about faster development cycles; it’s about delivering value. But what if we told you that value is often assumed rather than quantified? In today’s uncertain business landscape, Agilists need to connect their efforts directly to the balance sheet. Let’s explore why profitability matters and how you can prove your worth. Andrew Long, a Certified Profit Streams Trainer and Designer, introduces the Profit Stream Canvas. and shares pragmatic ideas, tools and shares personal anecdotes to help you understand. This powerful tool empowers Agilists to: 1. Quantify Value: Move beyond assumptions. The Profit Stream Canvas helps you characterize value in concrete economic terms. 2. Improve Solution Profitability: Understand how your team’s efforts impact the bottom line. It’s not just about features; it’s about sustainable revenue. 3. Value Breakdown Structure (VBS): Andrew will demonstrate how to create a VBS that crystalizes your team’s financial influence. No more guesswork—just clear impact! Me too! I'm one of the founding experts on The Agile Network. I "went agile" in 2000, as I was transitioning from software engineering to management and into product management. Not only do I remember the dark old days, but I was fortunate to be able to be part of figuring out what 'agile product management' means as both agile and product management were emerging in the tech space. I started writing about agile product management on the Tyner Blain blog in 2005, and still do today, although the focus tends to be more on key product management and strategy elements which are true both for agile and not-agile companies. If you're reading this, there's a good chance product is - to say it kindly - not being done well on your teams. I've worked with hundreds of teams in organizations from startups with a single engineering team all the way to clients in the Fortune 100. A lot of companies could create so much more value, have such better work environments, if they were just to start doing product well. To change, we have to first acknowledge a need to change, and have a sense of what to change. On The Agile Network, I'll be exploring a lot of these things. From discussions about changes in philosophy to recommendations about process and direct teaching of critical skills. I'll be engaging with other experts on the platform, and sometimes climbing up on my own soapbox to talk about product, org design, and change management. All of that is needed to move the needle in larger companies. But mostly I will help people get better at product and product ops. When you join The Agile Network you will get access to all of the content (live stream events, ask the experts interactions, recorded content / webinars) from all of the experts, including stuff from me. I've started sharing things there already. https://lnkd.in/gibr2_G5 I'll be recording a session tomorrow with Dennis Stevens, John Tanner, and Dave Prior, LAVM, CST, PMP, ACP tomorrow where we discuss the impact of AI on organizations - how to take advantage of it, how to protect your people, how to not lose to your competitors who are scrambling to do the same. On Monday Aug 5th, I'll share the thinking frames I use for making product investment decisions. This is a members-only event with 1 SEU/PDU. I'd love to have you there. https://lnkd.in/gJW6jiay As a founding expert, I can share some discount codes for your membership if you want to join. Join The Agile Network today and use the codes below to get a free month or 20% off an annual subscription. - 1 Month Free on Monthly Membership – TYNERBLAIN8PM - 20% off Annual Membership – TYNERBLAIN8P20 https://lnkd.in/gRwATnPU to check out the platform and sign up. Recap: Agile PEP Minds 2024 – How agility has been evolved in product development! The past two days at Agile PEP Minds 2024 in #Berlin delivered again fascinating insights into the powerful possibilities of agile methodologies. The central message was clear: It’s no longer about if agile frameworks are applied, but how quickly and in what form they can be implemented to accelerate transformation. My key Takeaways: ✅ Limitless Applicability: Agile methods have long gone far beyond software development – they are applicable across industries, from automotive and aerospace to measurement technology and energy projects, from manufacturing individual components to developing complex mobility solutions... ✅ Critical Success Factors: Management and Mindset! The success of agile transformations depends largely on the willingness of people and organizations to change. Strong management commitment is essential. Leaders need to act as role models, patiently and consistently guiding their teams toward an agile mindset. ✅ Benefits: Transparency and Accelerated Innovation: Agile methods enable companies to quickly adapt to changing market and customer demands. They promote sustainable product development, combining speed, quality, and transparency – a critical competitive advantage, especially for complex projects. Thanks a lot to the speakers Stefan Straßburger, Marta Danilewicz, Tina Weber, Johannes Männer, Eric Wünsche, @Thomas Schmidt, Benno Löffler, Tobias Sander, Dr. Felizitas Heilmann, Falk Silbermann, Konrad Swistelnicki, Ali Hajou, Stefan Kopp, Sabine Kerres, Sabine Muschik, Dr. Patrick Roth und Maik Purrmann for the inspiring presentations and follow up discussions. 👏 👏 👍 #AgileTransformation #AgilePEPMinds #Innovation #ProductDevelopment #Sustainability #MindsetChange

🌟 The Agile Manifesto: A Foundation for Modern Innovation 🌟 Over two decades ago, 17 thought leaders came together and created something revolutionary—the Agile Manifesto. Since then, it’s transformed how we approach work, innovation, and delivering value. Here’s why the Agile Manifesto remains a cornerstone of success: 📜 4 Core Values to Drive Success: 1️⃣ Individuals and Interactions Over Processes and Tools At the heart of any project are the people. Agile values collaboration, communication, and trust over rigid processes. 2️⃣ Working Software Over Comprehensive Documentation What truly matters is delivering functional, valuable outcomes. Let’s prioritize progress and results over paperwork. 3️⃣ Customer Collaboration Over Contract Negotiation Strong partnerships with our customers ensure we’re aligned and delivering exactly what they need—flexibility and collaboration over rigid agreements. 4️⃣ Responding to Change Over Following a Plan Change is inevitable. Agile teaches us to embrace it and adapt, turning uncertainty into opportunity. 🔥 These values have laid the groundwork for countless teams and organizations to innovate, adapt, and thrive in today’s fast-paced world. But the real power of the Agile Manifesto lies in its 12 guiding principles, which help teams stay focused on delivering value, working collaboratively, and continuously improving. Whether you’re a developer, product owner, or leader, embracing Agile values is about more than just adopting a framework—it’s about creating an agile mindset that fosters collaboration, innovation, and resilience. Let’s honor the Agile Manifesto by living its values every day, and keep driving real change in our organizations! #AgileManifesto #AgileMindset #ContinuousImprovement #Collaboration #Innovation

Sprint Consulting participated in this year's Agile Lean Europe (ALE) Unconference. Read Gábor Erényi's report from the event below. 👇 The annual Agile Lean Europe unconference was held at the end of August in Budapest, Hungary. Even the venue was unconventional: participants spent three or four days on A38 Ship, a historical ship moored on the river Danube. What is an unconference and in what way does it differ from a conventional conference? Well, first of all, there is no fixed agenda. Each day speakers have to pitch their conference topic in front of the whole audience and the agenda is created on the fly. There are multiple locations (in #ALE24 there were always at least six sessions running in parallel) and participants are completely free to choose the programme they would like to visit and they are also free to leave any time they like. This gives complete freedom for all attendees on how they self-organise their day and they are even able to choose whether they want to be speakers, listeners or participants in a round-table. Among big names in the Agile community, as Joe Justice, Maria Chec, Prateek Singh or Colleen Johnson, our consultants also held talks about such topics as valid and invalid reasons for switching from Scrum to Kanban and vice-versa, and participated in round table discussions about the future of agile, agile hardware development, organisational topologies and such. There can be no doubt that all participants returned with an extreme amount of valuable and up-to-date knowledge, a feeling of camaraderie and the enthusiastic experience created by the power of self-organisation, collaboration and agility. This unconference has proven that agile is alive and well - when done right. #ALE2024 #TheFutureOfAgile #AgileIsAlive

What if the Agile Manifesto was alive and evolving? In 2001, software practitioners drafted the transformative Agile Manifesto, reimagining teamwork, product delivery, and customer satisfaction. Consider this: What if it was meant to evolve like software itself? Agile emphasizes individuals, interactions, working software, customer collaboration, and change response. As technology and humanity merge in a digital world, these principles become more crucial. The Agile Manifesto predicted the future of work: fluid, flexible, and human-centric. Its real strength lies in adaptability. As we navigate modern work complexities - remote teams, AI integration - Agile principles guide us. They're not a map, but a compass leading us to innovation, collaboration, and humanity. The question is how we adapt Agile principles to meet current and future challenges. How have you seen the Agile Manifesto evolve in your work? #agile #scrum #softwaredevelopement
