The Award-winning Book "Find Your People: Building Deep Community in a Lonely World" by Jennie Allen is a guide to overcoming loneliness and fostering meaningful connections. In a world that's not so particular about building a tribe, this book helps you navigate the challenges of building deep relationships in today's disconnected world. Here are 8 lessons I pondered on after reading the book: 1. You're Not Alone: The book reassures you that you're not alone in feeling lonely and disconnected, and it offers hope and practical steps to find meaningful connections. 2. Vulnerability Leads to Connection: You learn that being vulnerable and authentic with others is the key to building deep, meaningful relationships that truly nourish your soul. 3. Seek Out Your Tribe: "Find Your People" encourages you to actively seek out and invest in relationships with people who support, challenge, and uplift you. 4. Community Requires Effort: You're reminded that building and maintaining community takes effort and intentionality, but the rewards of deep connection are well worth it. 5. Embrace Differences: The book teaches you to embrace the diversity within your community, recognizing that each person brings unique perspectives and gifts to the table. 6. Offer Grace and Forgiveness: You learn the importance of offering grace and forgiveness within your community, recognizing that people are imperfect and will inevitably make mistakes. 7. Be a Safe Space: This book encourages you to create a safe space where others can be vulnerable and authentic without fear of judgment or rejection. 8. Grow Together: Do not forget the value of growing together with your community, supporting each other through life's challenges and celebrating each other's victories. With thought-provoking words, the empowers you to step out of isolation and cultivate the kind of community that nourishes your soul and brings joy and purpose to your life. If you're struggling to find yourself in a community of like minds, then this book is just what you need. Two readers of my book, "Somebody Should Tell the Story", a true story about Dennis Rasmussen, who had an intellectual disability yet positively impacted so many people, had this to say: "The story about Dennis was inspiring and compassionate. Well done. Dennis must have been a remarkable person. Thanks for making me think about what's next?" "I both teared up and laughed out loud" as I read "Somebody Should Tell the Story". Thank you for the inspiring read. Thank you for the questions presented throughout the book to make me think." For example: Do you ever think about someone you were once close to earlier in your life? So, who should you try to reconnect with soon? How many times do you jump to conclusions based on a slice of the information or story? What actions can you take now to start on the path to create your legacy? What will the many slices of your story be when someone tells your story? What's next? When I decided to write the book about Dennis, I had a calling to help tell his story. And I hoped the readers of the book, would learn from Dennis' story and apply those learnings to their own life circumstances. The two people above and their comments make me feel good about helping to tell Dennis' story and the thinking the readers are applying to their own lives. If you or someone you know would be interested in reading, "Somebody Should Tell the Story", you can go to my website - acallingpublishingllc.com - to order a soft cover book or to order an electronic version of the book through Amazon/Kindle or Apple. In the Green Bay area, the book is available at two book stores - Lions Mouth and Bosses. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Tom Anderson

The first book in my Home Team series just received a great review. In celebration, I'm inviting everyone to participate in a simple promotional contest. The goal: Guess how many countries are included as settings in book #3 of the Home Team Series, "Finding Home". Finding Home is due out this fall. One of the best parts of writing a novel is selecting the settings for the story. For example, book #1 of the series, The Home Team, is set in the United States and Mexico (2 countries). Book #2 of the series, Home Team 2, is set in the United States, Turkey, Mexico, China and Germany (5 countries). The two people who come closest to guessing how many countries (including the country's' names) are included in book #3 of the series, Finding Home, will each receive signed copies of the first two books in the Home Team series (The Home Team and Home Team 2). If you'd like to participate, your guesses should be submitted on my Facebook Author Page: Dave Pratt Books. This contest will run through Memorial Day, 2024. Submit your responses to my Facebook Author Page: Dave Pratt Books. This contest is open to anyone, excluding my immediate family (wife and kids), my pre-publication readers (you know who you are), and the staff of the Ambassador International, a division of Emerald House. Good luck!

Wandering Son written by first time author Danny Gonzalez is a charming letter to mothers - turned into a children's book. Great story about this book. Danny wrote this poem years ago to his mother as a gift. He thought about turning it into a book someday to give to his mother as a sign of appreciation. Years go by and this dream waited. It was not until through a network of colleagues and friends that Danny and I connected. Through our meeting, Danny shared with me about his poem and dream to make a children's book someday. Inspired by Danny, I told him - we can do this - I can help. And it happened! I was able to help Danny turn his "old" dream into a reality. This experience has reminded me of two things: 1. Never let a powerful dream die - hang on to it. If you think, I can't do this. Remind yourself that you can't do it YET. 2. The power of networking and connections is impactful. Share your dreams with the people you network with over time. You never know how a chance encounter with the right person, at the right place, at the right time, can make the right things happen. Go support this first time author and grab a copy of this emotional and inspiring children's book - perfect for Mother's Day. https://a.co/d/jdzqOcG
