For those folks who are missing out attending CES 2024 in person, like yours truly 😌 - I'd suggest tuning in to the livestream and checking out what seems to be a great lineup of keynote address slated for today (Jan 9th, EST). Of course, if you happen to be on the other side of the globe it would mean staying up all night, but I think it might be worth it. 1. On the #streaming front, there are sessions from #disney & #amazon , both of which seem most interesting for marketers & advertisers: a. Disney: The New Streaming Formula - Audience and Engagement Fuel The Future Of Advertising b. Amazon Streaming: Clay tablets to streaming TV - The evolution of storytelling 2. On #retail , there is the keynote address from the Walmart CEO, which will purportedly be #technology focused. 3. Additionally, sessions on how Gen AI would disrupt customer experience in the D2C #automotive space (by BCG), Human by design - the potential for AI to reinvent business (by Accenture), and the benefits of a cross-platform approach in #onlineadvertising (by Comscore). Yesterday, a live Triple Whale event got more than 1.5 million views tl;dr Linda Yaccarino + Jeff Melei, we can't wait to do it again. Some background… We worked with X as our exclusive live stream partner for The Whalies. Meaning we got… - A sick setup on the platform (The Whalies = The Oscars) - Top-shelf support from their product team (33 email thread yesterday) - Promotion leading up to and during the event (don’t tell me you didn’t see an ad for The Whalies) Pretty cool! During the Moby reveal, conversation with Harley Finkelstein, and the awesome keynote on DTC data stacks from Christina Springer Owen, we saw something INSANE: “LIVE: 1.1M” Then, around lunch, we had to restart the broadcast to turn the chat feature on. (that’s why the view number went to zero then built back up over ~600K by the time Nik Sharma took the stage) X Media Studio Analytics measures a video view when at least 50% of the video is in view for at least two seconds. Here are the metrics that the team over at X shared with us this morning First Session Session length = 177 minutes Playback starts = 2,152,845 MRC views = 932,371 MRC viewers = 778,676 Total minutes viewed = 221,571 Device breakdown = Mobile (90%), Web (8%), iPad (2%) Second Session Session length = 236 minutes Playback starts = 992,451 MRC views = 506,791 MRC viewers = 404,307 Total minutes viewed = 125,921 Device breakdown = Mobile (60%), Web (38%), iPad (2%) How?
