This article highlights the need for early lung cancer detection in low- and middle-income countries, where resources are limited and patients are often diagnosed too late. In Malaysia, nearly 90% of lung cancer cases are detected at stage 3 or 4, with only a 9% five-year survival rate. The Malaysian Ministry of Health, in partnership with AstraZeneca, is using AI-assisted screening to improve early diagnosis, already benefiting thousands of high-risk patients. Global collaborations are crucial for making lung cancer screening accessible and reducing mortality, especially in high-risk populations. #lungscreen #international #AI
