What can Africa take as a lesson?

#Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and prayer for Muslims, is currently underway. As the aviation industry connects people worldwide, Ramadan brings unique operational considerations. Crew scheduling requires flexibility to accommodate fasting duties; catering teams modify menus and services; and delays can pose challenges for fasting timelines. #Airlines have to be vigilant and carefully plan to respect religious obligations while maintaining safety standards. Medical support is enhanced in cases of issues from fasting, whereas #airports extend food areas and prayer facilities. The efforts reflect aviation's role in serving diverse passengers and crews worldwide. Facilitating religious practice is important, as is mitigating risks from fatigue or lack of sustenance over long flights. Cross-cultural awareness and adaptation are hallmarks of our industry. During Ramadan, these qualities are on display as operators accommodate the monthly observance. It is a reminder of aviation's responsibility to all travellers, regardless of background. As Ramadan continues, I want to wish all #Muslims celebrating a blessed and fulfilling holy month. May this time of reflection, connection with faith, and community bring peace and prosperity to you all.
