The Piedmont Triad Regional Council is one of three COGs collecting information to understand the interest of local governments in supporting food system efforts and how COGs can support them in the process. Us COGs are also working with Community Food Strategies (a Center for Environmental Farming Systems initiative) to better support the complex and nested systems creating the food value chain. 📣Calling All Farmers – We Want to Hear From You! A farmer survey focusing on the knowledge and communication needs of farmers has been launched. This survey has been collaboratively developed by the AKIS Coordination Group (Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine , Agricultural Consultants Association, Teagasc and CAP Network Ireland) to better understand the current needs of farmers in relation to how they currently source knowledge and information. Results will be used to inform AKIS actors to help ensure a well-functioning Irish AKIS that connects people and facilitates knowledge flows between research, cooperation and advisory services and is more responsive to the growing information needs of farmers, rural economy actors, advisors, researchers and other food system & bioeconomy stakeholders. 🌍 Addressing Food Security and Climate Change Through Innovation The upcoming International Conference on Innovations in Soil Fertility and Precision Nutrient Management, organized by NSAF in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) and NARC, is bringing together global experts to tackle two of the world’s most urgent challenges. From September 30th to October 2nd, the conference will feature Nepali-specific outcomes and CIMMYT’s global insights, creating a dynamic platform for scientists, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, innovations, and best practices.
