⚡#WorldSepsisDay: A Global Call to Action to Save Lives⚡ Today marks World Sepsis Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about #sepsis, a life-threatening condition that claims millions of lives each year. Sepsis arises when the body's response to infection causes injury to its own tissues and organs, potentially leading to organ failure and death. 🚨 #Antimicrobialresistance (#AMR) significantly complicates the treatment of sepsis: ⚓ #DrugResistant Infections: Sepsis caused by resistant pathogens leads to higher mortality rates. ⚓ Global Impact: In 2019, an estimated 4.95 million deaths were associated with AMR, including 1.27 million directly attributable to it. ⚓ Clinical Unresponsiveness: AMR can lead to ineffective treatments and rapid deterioration of the patient's condition. ❗If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, do not wait—seek medical attention immediately.❗ Together, we can make a difference. Raise awareness. Act fast. Save lives. Maneesh Paul. S., M. Did you know that as adults age, their response to a Urinary Tract Infection can be different? A younger women often experiences a burning sensation with a UTI, yet older women (& men) can face a drastic changes in their mental capacity, including confusion. I've seen this many times where adult children would call stating their loved one needs memory care because all of a sudden they are acting so different and so confused! And the first 2 questions I'd ask are: 1) How long have you noticed this change? 2) Have they been checked for a UTI? The first step is always touching base with your physician to rule out a UTI. Have you witnessed the drastic effects of Urinary Tract Infection? Want to learn more? Check out this website to learn more about UTI's and their effects on Senior Citizens. https://lnkd.in/gfSVxfdY #seniorliving #seniorhousing #assistedliving #independentliving #change #changemanagement #agingadults #navigatingchange #aging #seniorcitizen #navigatingchange #retirementcommunities #caringforseniorcitizens #agingparents #agingparentssupport #uti #urinarytractinfection
