The power of generative AI is upon you. Now instead of doing a web search, you can use the web to do a GPT search and then when you get the results of the GPT search, you can use a web search to double check and correct your GPT search as it hallucinates the wrong answers. This is brilliant. You do twice the work because the AI is unreliable. And you do it cheerfully because it’s so cool to correct the AI. Even when you ask AI to do things for you, you’re still going to end up doing things for it. Because you really like to do more work when you use AI tools?
Quote: "In the demo video, a user asked for music festivals in a town in North Carolina, in August. The system gave an answer – but got the dates wrong, telling users that the concerts would run in August, when in fact that was when the box office would be closed, The Atlantic reported. “This is an initial prototype, and we’ll keep improving it,” OpenAI told The Atlantic." We are seeing these issues from every corner of the globe with industry, governments, and citizens striving to find a realistic balance through new technologies. #noisecontrol #industrialnoisecontrol #urbannoise
Live Music Capital of the World's City Council passes the "They Were Here First" ordinance. Council passed an ordinance to address issues with live music venue late night sound production but different than most efforts puts the responsibility on new hotel and housing developers near venues to document the existing sound being produced to acknowledge they know what to expect. The ordinance apparently doesn't put any new requirements on sound coming from these venues or require them to install sound dampening materials because they were here first. Not clear what the developers are required to do with this audio data but glad to see council not making it more difficult to try and continue the self proclaimed Live Music Capital moniker. #austin #linkedglenn #livemusiccapital #musicwasherefirst P.S. Any developers needing some acoustical consulting reach out to LinkedGlenn friend Jack B Evans, he'll take care of you!

"An important #habit or #behavior to adopt for making a positive impact through actions is proper #wastemanagement. The key to good waste management is sorting waste at the source. This not only reduces the amount of waste going to #landfills but also eases the efforts of the waste management #workforce." Hard one but sure with continuous practice it’s achievable. It’s just like any other technical skills set we develop over a period of time!.. #ESG at personal level!

Exciting news! My side project, Encore Encore, is now LIVE in public beta! 🎤 Whether you're a concert fanatic or just love discovering new live music, you can now rate, review and find favourite gigs, artists and festivals. 👨💻 I’ve been working on this on and off (mostly off) for about two years. It’s my first public side project, not counting jijtuup.com. My goal with this site is to help you discover great concerts and new music from bands you might not have found otherwise - at a big festival or your local venue. Since I just opened the site, there isn't much content yet. So please, after your next concert, take half a minute to write a review and help others find out if the artist is worth seeing live. It's much appreciated! 🙏 I created the concept, design, UX, and code entirely by myself. I know this can lead to some tunnel vision, which might cause me to miss things that fresh eyes would catch. That’s why feedback is valuable to me - let me know what you think! 🗣️

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Recently, I attended the Summerfest music festival in Milwaukee. When I was wandering around to 10 plus different stages, I ended up at a stage with an artist I'd never heard of- one of my favorite things about music festivals. Halfway through his set, he asked his band to leave the stage. An odd move for a live show. He explained to the crowd that he had two brand new songs that he had just completed- so new that the band hadn't learned the songs yet. The artist had an audio recording of a house band playing both songs, and proceeded to essentially sing karaoke to his own songs on an empty stage at a live music festival. Was this an odd move or an incredibly brave move? Many times in life, we wait for our work product to be perfect before launching it out to the world. But if we're brave enough to be vulnerable, share where the item is and why, test it and get feedback, it can ultimately land in a better place. My favorite part of the show was after he finished playing both songs and had the audience vote for which should be his next single. I currently have many projects 'in the works' and I'll let this experience serve as a reminder that sometimes it's okay to take a leap of faith and launch things into the world before I feel fully ready. #learning #progress #perfectionism #experimentation

Do your students get really anxious over music exams? Chill ya beans! No pre-booking, just pop online as soon as you are ready. Even then, you have 3 months after you've paid to upload your videos AND you can record each piece separately. Let performance anxiety and exam stress be a thing of the past. https://lnkd.in/ebMBiH4p Music Mark - The UK Association for Music Education Music Teachers Association Making Music Independent Society of Musicians European Piano Teachers Association UK (EPTA UK) #pianoexams #pianosongs #performanceanxiety
