IDPLN Presentation Highlight! Todd Abraham, I2D2's Assistant Director of Data and Analytics, shared insights from analytics on the impacts and opportunities to support maternal health surrounding birthing unit closures in Iowa. This work sheds light on the critical implications of these closures for maternal and child health, while identifying data-driven strategies to address the challenges. Together, we’re exploring opportunities to enhance healthcare access using data.📊✨ #DataDriven #HealthEquity #DataSharing To learn more about the International Data Population Linkage Network, visit https://ipdln.org/

CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics is empowering the application of next-generation data science and analytics to reach rural populations through Insight Net. Clemson University, an Insight Net partner and one of thirteen awardees, is working with S.C. Department of Public Health and two large health systems in South Carolina to combine respiratory disease trend data with information about available medical resources and community needs. Researchers use the data to create models and maps that will help healthcare and public health systems decide where to place mobile health clinics in underserved areas. The partnership between HealthDataViz, a Sellers Dorsey solution (HDV) and the DC Department of Health and their collaborative work to visually share data on two critical #publichealth issues, unintentional drug overdoses and violent deaths, has made important public #healthdata more accessible and transparent. The interactive data dashboards they've developed highlight significant trends that showcase the power of #datavisualization to drive impactful change and enhance health outcomes. Click the link below to explore HDV's latest blog with Katie Bueno that dives deep into this meaningful work.
It’s no surprise that we love working with health and healthcare data. We get to work alongside amazing organizations that are using data to make big differences in their communities. That’s why it’s extremely rewarding when we can work with organizations, such as the DC Department of Health, to visually share data on two critical public health issues impacting their local community: violent deaths and unintentional drug overdoses. Last week, Wes Streeting announced that he is directing NHS England to ensure consented data is shared for research, removing the burden of responsibility from GPs. World-leading studies like the UK Biobank, Genomics England and Our Future Health are building up incredibly detailed profiles of our nation’s health. Patients have given their consent for their data to be shared with these studies. There are issues that need to be worked through around information governance and risk. But that is also a culture issue that, unless addressed, will not only exacerbate the shortcomings of the system today, but also squander the potential of tomorrow. https://lnkd.in/eQ63jG7V If it can happen in health, in needs to happen in housing. #data #opendata #socialhousing
