Take a look at Few figures mentioned below this might change perspective of some or even ONE would be a good start... ✌🏼 ***Copied 👇🏽 *** TA teams in India: 🐅 Are you feeling lucky today? Here’s a bunch of jobs to fill. Plenty of talent around. Just get the one we actually interviewed and hired to show up on day 1 and yes, but don't forget to add the description for other countries mentioned below as well 😁 & you can have a placement fee of 8.33%. TA teams in Indonesia: 📢 Plenty of talent available. Find me someone who can fit within the team and the culture we have, with reasonable core skills, and you can have a fee of 20%. TA teams in Australia: 🌏 Talent is getting harder to find. Find me someone who is a good skills match and isn’t 30% over budget, and you can have a placement fee of 15 to 18%. TA teams in Japan: 🗾 Your network is your net worth. Here are more jobs than you can handle. Find me people who fit our culture and are actually willing to accept our offer. Do that and you can have a placement fee of 40%. TA teams in Singapore: 🦁 Don’t give up. Find me someone who doesn’t need a visa, or can pass the COMPAS framework, isn’t asking for more than a 12% bump in salary, has the right skills, is the right culture fit, will work beyond office hours as need be, has two solid references, and doesn’t switch jobs more than once in three years. A client recently asked me to headhunt someone from a very specific industry for a niche role. After presenting a few strong candidates, the client said, “I want 100% fit.” Here’s the reality: (1) finding someone with 100% of the qualifications, especially from the same industry, is almost impossible. (2) if they are 100% fit, they are expecting an extremely high increment and would that fits into company budget and jeopardizing internal employees equality? (3) most candidates who fit 70% of the role are worth considering. If someone is "perfect," why would they want to join you? Chances are, they’re already settled and thriving. “Why did you leave your last company?” I interviewed a candidate last week for VHR and asked this question. This was the response: “The company didn’t provide any learning opportunity. I feel that I’m not growing there.” This is a WRONG way to answer this question. As I always say, don’t talk bad about your last company. Instead of giving “away from” answers, talk about what you’re leaning towards. For example, you can say “I am looking for a workplace with more opportunities to learn and challenge myself, and I believe that this is a great place to do so.” This candidate didn’t leave a good impression, and she unfortunately didn’t make it to the next round. For candidates, this is a reminder to keep your answers focused on what you want to move towards, instead of what you want to be away from. And for employers, this is a reminder to not overlook the growth and learning of your team. As a recruiter, I’ve seen a consistent pattern of talents leaving due to lack of opportunities for growth, and it’s definitely something employers should not overlook. This may be controversial, but I believe that years of experience should not be included in a job description. If you were to refer to many UK job descriptions, you'd often find only '2 or more years of work experience' listed, alongside extensive technical and managerial responsibilities required for the role. Having worked for three UK entities (a foreign mission, university, and a startup), I never understood why until a colleague in the HR department informed me that it's to account for those who have shorter formal work experience but possess the relevant skill set required. By including this requirement in job descriptions, companies are missing out on outstanding candidates who have relevant experiences but fall short in terms of length of service. I personally believe the focus should shift from a candidate's tenure in a particular field (and expecting it to be an indicator of their contributions) towards their skills, competencies, and potential for growth. If what you're implying by asking for candidates with X years of experience is their expertise and leadership skills, then be more specific within the job description: 📍 Outline the headcount you expect them to have managed or will manage at your firm. 📍 State the required qualifications or outline the scope of work you expect the candidate to already be familiar with. By prioritising qualifications and capabilities over years of experience, companies can foster a more inclusive hiring process that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Ultimately, this attracts the best talent and contributes to a more dynamic and innovative workforce. I'm keen to hear your thoughts on this.
