Changes in technology provide opportunities and risks to mobility, particularly as they relate to traditionally and newly underserved populations. In recent years, economic, environmental, and social forces have quickly given rise to shared and on-demand mobility—a collective of entrepreneurs and consumers leveraging technology to maximize transportation and financial resources and generate capital. For instance, shared mobility services have become part of a trend that has pushed shared, on-demand mobility from the fringe into the mainstream. TCRP Research Report 244/NCHRP Research Report 1101: Transformational Technologies and Mobility Inclusion Playbook, from Transportation Research Board's Transit Cooperative Research Program - TCRP and National Cooperative Highway Research Program, is a playbook of resources for public and private entities to assess, plan, and measure their progress toward achieving transportation equity and inclusive mobility in an era of transformational technology. As an engrained healthcare OPS & BD professional, I am acutely aware of the challenges posed by fragmented IT systems in our industry. Although the emergence of new technologies brings exciting opportunities for seamless integration and interoperability between different platforms, it also raises concerns about the potential barriers to effective communication and resulting patient care. We saw such an evolutionary change during the adoption of EMR and EHRs (over a decade ago), which brought about a communication and cooperation cataclysm across several health systems nationwide leading to inefficiencies, rising healthcare costs, and disenfranchised patients. However, a survey conducted by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) revealed that only 38% of healthcare organizations reported having a fully interoperable electronic health record (EHR) system in 2020. This statistic underscores the urgent need for improvements in healthcare IT integration and interoperability in the age of healthcare technology changes moving increasingly faster than many providers can sustain. The lack of interoperability is not just a logistical issue; it also has significant financial implications. According to a report by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), the fragmented nature of healthcare IT systems costs the U.S. healthcare system billions of dollars annually. These costs arise from inefficiencies in data exchange, redundant testing, and suboptimal resource utilization to name a few. Although most organizations must deal with these challenges holistically, healthcare challenges affect each one of us at the family nuclei level. As many leaders try to address these challenges, senior technology and operations leaders must collaborate more than they already do to improve interoperability between disparate healthcare systems and the end-user: the patient. Technology leaders ought to focus more on developing application interfaces and related solutions, driving data standards to facilitate seamless data exchange and reduce challenges surrounding “bad data” and silo-oriented communication errors. Meanwhile, operations leaders must ensure that integration aligns with clinical workflows and top line organizational priorities. We just wrapped up an enlightening panel discussion on "Mobilising Digital: How Does NSW Deploy Innovation to Solve Legacy Challenges and Harness Emerging ICT?" at #FSTGov's Future of NSW Government Summit. Throughout the discussion, it became clear that striking the right balance between strategic vision and execution, leveraging tech advancements, and building a solid digital foundation were and are key for Karen K. Chief Digital Officer at Revenue NSW. Kurt Brissett, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Transport for NSW, stressed the importance of an outcome-focused approach and the establishment of tech incubators to drive innovation in transport delivery. Daniela Polit Director of Shared Services Roadmap at the Premier's Department NSW, emphasised the pivotal role of technology in service delivery and the importance of responsiveness and agility in achieving government outcomes. Mike A. Dudarenok Chief Information and Digital Officer at NSW Education Standards Authority addressed the challenges of scaling large programs and the critical role of policy in government-private sector collaboration. We are energised by the collective insights shared by our panellists who emphasised the critical importance of strategic vision, technology leveraging, and collaborative agility in driving NSW's digital transformation journey forward. #FSTGovNSW #FSTGovernment

Learning from the experience of previous transformation programs is essential for success. Just as the use of scientifically proven clinical practices is essential to saving patients and increasing their life expectancy and quality of life, the use of proven methodologies is essential to saving companies throughout transformation programs and increasing their prosperity and sustainability. Last May, I was with the students of the Postgraduate Program in Digital Enterprise Management at NOVA IMS Information Management School, showing and discussing with them how to improve the chances of digital transformation success using proven #methodologies and #frameworks, based on Newbridge Digital's research and experience working in large critical infrastructure organizations, such as water and wastewater utilities, energy utilities, hospital centers, and my own experience at ULS Santa Maria . This is the fourth year in a row that I've taken part in this renowned Postgraduate Program led by Professor Jorge Carrola Rodrigues,  whom I'd like to thank for the invitation and the opportunity to present a complex, relevant and very current topic.
